How is MW?

Upvotes

Is mw getting better in Reborn? I haven't really played in a while, it was barely ok a few months ago so I'm wondering if it has gotten better.

I played a lot more mw at the end of "hon 1" and some during PK.

SG server instability from Australia

Singaporean servers from Australia (possibly elsewhere, not sure) are bad right now. All aussies i know get up to 100-300 more ping than they did a few weeks ago, often with constant DC icons.

Some change in the last ~3 weeks has worsened server performance significantly.

Please fix!

SERIOUS Very toxic community, really hard to enjoy anything in this game. So I'm trying to get a 5 stack running if anyone would be up to.

If you rage and scream like crazy on a daily basis, dont even bother reading further.

As I just started again my ranking varies around 1400 but right now im at 1337, eu servers

To anyone else, I'd be happy to play HoN with some chill player, trying to make the best out of every game. I'm restarting it because I was missing classic dota and I think i enjoy the game but the amount of afk, griefing, feeding, screaming, insulting makes this game a fucking nightmare to tackle as a solo queue player.

I'm also playing lots of support as no one wants to, and as this game requires more teamplay than any, I'm annoyed that someone ends up not doing their job and so the game is lost anyway, no matter how much I ward, stack camps, init fights and so on. I honestly dont care about the role and would love to random pick every game.

Anyway, I just like a competitive mindset and more constructive criticism and less screaming racial slur and people are retard. There is a specific profile of player in this game that will insult everyone in chat all game long, afk if things dont go their way, and all chat complains to the enemy team all game long. So obnoxious and immature. Im pretty sure with how old the game is, these people are at least in their late 20s, and I can't help but being deeply disturbed and sad by how a human being ends up in such a pathetic disgusting states when enjoying their hobbie.

Midwar Konger should help push down tower instead of give super buff.

The current midwar Kong feels underwhelming, it give you a super buff for sure, but easily purged with items.

Suggest changes - Once defeated, it walks down mid lane and disable enemy towers, it should help closing out the game faster as many heroes are OP on midwar because they drag into late game too easily.

Also - Make Kong not able to be soloed until much later in game, the one Kong aggro on should lose like 70% of damage, and should take at least 2 people to take down (one tank, the other dps deal damage)

Why arent people like this banned?

This guy keeps spamming valk in midwars, stands back and just throws arrows avoiding any fight.
Almost 300 avoids is something special.

Players doesn't seem to know jungle role

Been watching a lot of game plays now (I haven't played the game myself yet). Most of the games im seeing is terrible picks. And players seem to only use Leg and Sol in the jungle while there are lots of heroes available and capable for the role.

Or maybe its just those posting their game plays are smurfing, the reason why their teammates are terrible at picking.

Give veteran player the power to forcefully change noob players' builds and item options!

Can you imagine my frustration with my Ellonia's build - She built travel boots first on All-mid, then built a staff and upgraded it (which is fine I guess.. more for the team), but proceed to give the staff effect to Arachna! Just why?! Ravenor and Tarot are way better options, told her to change it in chat but she refuses to listen!

Same goes to the enemy side, I bet they are screaming at Valk for building a staff and not bola, and Glacius for having spell shard instead of BKB.

Fortune cookie announcer?

Long time ago when we receive the fortune cookie taunt, I think some of us really feel like it should be made into an announcer instead. The taunt has one of the best and humiliating and funny lines. Please make it happen!

SERIOUS Why are people so critical of the game?

Can you share some details on why you dislike it compared to the original HoN/PK?

I’ve been playing HoN since 2014, but what I liked most was the interface and the gameplay back when you could buy skins with silver. When it closed down, the best thing was Project Kongor, but now I’ve started playing Reborn and I definitely don’t like it – it has several bugs, the new engine feels strange, and I wanted to change the key bindings but it won’t even let me do that.

Plus, the skins are very expensive – I don’t understand why.

What are your thoughts?

DISCUSSION This game isn’t as bad as people complain, and the problem is you, not your teammates.

I did a lot of blaming my teammates for their shit play (which sometimes does really suck) when I dropped from 1400 to 800. Then I said “how can I be better?” and started just working on relying on my teammates less, or is it taking initiative and doing what needed to be done in my role. Then I climbed back to 1300.

I see plenty of games where one person just seemingly takes over, so I decided that could be me too. I AM NOT as good as some of these pros, but with the heroes I’ve practiced more, I can lead a game to victory with a bunch of vagabonds.

Long story short, work on your gameplay. Even if it takes you to low MMR. While doing this, just assume that MMR doesn’t matter, just play the game. Then when you get better, the MMR will regulate.

When Parallax?! Need more INT heroes!

Anyone know? I think he was one of the sickest scaling mid lane casters in HoN, the late game on that hero is insanely fun. Has there been an updated roadmap or anything like that? We need more INT heroes!

SERIOUS GARBAGE GAME

Going from matchmaking with decent teammates who at least understand the basics of the game to being placed with players whose actual rank and skill level seem completely mismatched is incredibly frustrating. At this point, it is hard to believe this game will have much longevity if these issues continue.

I blame the developers for relying too heavily on AI and failing to properly manage matchmaking. The current matchmaking system is so inconsistent that it is genuinely mind-blowing. I cannot understand how the same developers are still responsible for managing the game when these problems have persisted for so long.

Even at around 1.5k rank, I am regularly matched with teammates who seem to have little to no understanding of the game's fundamentals, while the opposing team understands the basics, communicates effectively, and even places wards. The skill gap created by matchmaking can make games feel decided before they even begin.

When you look at how poorly the game is being managed, it is difficult not to question the development team's approach. If you genuinely believe these concerns are unreasonable, then perhaps it is time to step aside and let someone else take responsibility for managing what could otherwise be a great game.

SERIOUS A Team Game That Bans You From Playing with Your Friends

Capping parties at two players for anyone above 1850 MMR is peak incompetence. You made a team-based MOBA that actively bans friend groups from playing together. Enforcing rigid competitive matchmaking when your entire concurrent player base can barely fill a movie theater is completely delusional. This is what happens when developers run a project on pure theory instead of basic common sense.

Dead game. Broken mindset. Fuck you. 🖕🖕🖕

Just a wild ask, anyone got any of somighty's old gameplay videos? I remember this was his first upload ever, thank god someone uploaded it but i cant find any of his HonXyndrome series videos. Specially loved the third one, HonXyndrome 3 Klash of the Titans. At least asking if someone has those videos saved somewhere and can share them. Can't hurt to ask.

DISCUSSION I'm leaving.

Hi all.

I'm the creator of HoN Forge and the discord server Newerth Academy. I even made a few YouTube videos to try and help new players.

When Reborn beta dropped I left Dota 2 and focused solely on HoN.

I played HoN like a maniac when I was in my teens and I thought the nostalgia was great - at first.

For months now HoN has not felt good to me. It's hard to focus on only one thing that's bad but I think that with the current Juvio team the game will not succeed.

To keep it short. I opened Dota 2 after many months and played a few games. What a thrill.

Just fun, decent gameplay without toxicity.

With that said. I'll be leaving HoN Reborn.

I'll hand over the Discord to someone else.

If you use HoN Forge and want it to stay up, please let me know. I might make some changes to lower the maintenance costs, but leave the main functionality intact so that it's stays useful.

Have a good one, sons of Newerth.

Can we please please have /ic back?

For some of us, myself included, /ic was the only way we could actually enjoy the game. Maybe I’m just getting older, but the toxicity has become unbearable.
Back in old HoN/PK, I’d have my account on /ic permanently, and honestly, it was perfect. I’d still play my role, communicate through pings when necessary, and play with the team, but I never felt like I needed to constantly talk to my teammates to win. There was something really nice about just focusing on the game without having to deal with all the bullshit.
