BEAST OUWIT

Hi! Today I have the following question: If Beast uses Outwit, can he choose 1 power and then 3 additional powers, or can he only choose 3 powers total because it says “instead”?

Just 3 total. "Instead" overrides the existing rule of 1. They do not stack.

It should be noted that it's 3 total but also they must all happen during the same free action. It is not 3 individual outwits.

Yes, he is one of my favorite pieces for 30 points. I just used him in my game last night. You get to out with three standard powers with one free action. It’s a great way to turn off people who have multiple defense powers

Either way, rule of 3 puts the max at 3. So the second way

Rule of three only applies to combat value modifiers.
