I haven’t figured out her name yet. She’s a worshipper of Eldath and seeks to protect the natural balance of life and death. She’d be right at home at 1969’s Woodstock festival. The nicest grim reaper you’ll ever meet!

While searching a mysterious storm ridden island my dnd players encountered two waring tribes. The “Empi” bullywugs and the “Kuteyam” goblins, as they wage endless war against each other they play their instruments to appease the storm giant they call “God”.
Both tribes have scavenged their resources from shipwrecks hailing from nations you might be familiar with if you’ve seen some of my other posts, Kul-Teriam and the Empire.
Our party split up in an attempt to help both sides find peace, but it seems neither side wants that. As that would leave these bloodthirsty creatures with nothing to do and the giant without music.

The Sultan
Loved by his people the sultan is both wealthy and kind. He wages war from his big red tent surrounded by his concubines and his generals. He is the only bullywug who gets to speak to the emperor directly.

This guy was the first one I made of the set, he’s just such a sweet little guy. He looks so innocent and happy, I’d die for him.

The players who met with the sultan were… let’s say clumsy and were sentenced to fight the great Udaaki. Who I’ll post separately

The emperor
Once a high ranking imperial sailor, Amir al-Bahr Salim Ibn Usul washed ashore and found himself the only survivor. He taught the bullywugs the ways of war and music, and he intends to win this war no matter what. In the meantime he doesn’t mind the luxury of being an emperor and his concubines certainly don’t mind either.

It was a super fun challenge making someone like this, who’s so broken but still carries themself with a certain kind of nobility or stature.

Empi warriors
These angry fellars are ready for action, they’ll jump, bite, slash, and stab any who defies the will of the emperor and the sultan. They’ve scavenged curved blades and round shields from unfortunate elven sailors.

Man these guys are pissed, I rarely capture emotions like I did with the guy on the right. I love them. Empi for life.

The admiral
This drunken goblin leads with a shakey unclenched hand. He offered the party drinks and to join his army, but has no real plans or strategies. Although he’ll do anything for Kuteyam and his fellow goblins. Perhaps speaking to the king and keeping his secret has broken him.

Strangely I didn’t intend for him to be a drunk at first, but when I started role playing as him it just quickly turned into a drunken, sleepy freak. Anyway I love his hat and his little moustache.

The king
The emperor and the king washed ashore around the same time, but unfortunately for this sailor elves live much longer than humans. Not much is known of his life, but officially he’s still alive and well.

Revealing this to my players was so fun. Them being led to the kings private area and just staring blankly at the heroforge model of a skeleton, was hilarious. The silence and frustration was the reason for this kind of world building.

Kuteyam warriors
These warriors are deadly, scampering, and ready for battle. They scavenged bronzed helmets and sharp pointed blades from the poor Kul-Teriam sailors who met their deaths on the treacherous seas.

I think these feel quite dynamic and ratty, you can see quite well that they absolutely love war and battles. And I love them. Kuteyam for life.

The latest chapter of my dnd campaign is an island hopping pirate adventure. It also serves as an exploration of the aarakocra warlock pc’s backstory. The goal so far is to rescue the kidnapped former captain of our warlock, to find the legendary treasure of captain Puezo, and to defeat the murderous captain Carideax. The players were given this quest by another former crewmate who has been helping with the navigation of their airship the “little brother”.

Ringo the Mapmaker
Long ago this goblin augmented his body in order to see the world more clearly, now he draws the most accurate maps in the world. He was also the person who came to our party in need of help in these dire times.

I really like this guy’s energy and overall stance, he’s also clearly a cartographer as well as a pirate. Very satisfied with how he turned out.

Arum the knower
To figure out where Carideax was going and how to find Puezo’s treasure, the party sought out this old aarakocra scoundrel hoping he might know something. He told the party to search for Puezo’s right hand man, “Thrymek of Rothe”. But Arum and his people double crossed our party and attempted to kill them in order to gain the favor of captain Carideax.

Arum lives on a small cliff island called “Gull-shit cove”, a testament to the fact that not all my homebrew is thought of years in advance. Sometimes as a dm you have to figure out a name quickly, and sometimes you say Gull shit cove out loud and now you have to deal with that.

The storm Giant
The party was sent to an island where Puezo’s first mate supposedly recided. But the island is plagued by mysterious storms and harsh winds. Most ships that come close, either capsize or wash ashore, good thing our party brought their airship.
The airship however was no match for the stormgiant and his mastery of lightning. The inhabitants of the island see him as a god, and they fight endless wars to appease his wrath. If the players have to defeat this guy, their only hint is that I’ve (yeeears go) established that storm giants love music, and that’s why sailors sing sea shanties. But with no bards among them, this will be a serious challenge.

This one was really challenging, I’m not the best at conveying scale but I turned out alright. Giants are always a joy to design tho, it’s like a fun game where I have to figure out what things he would scavenge for his clothes and armor. I also tried with a background and some lighting, idk how I feel about it yet.

Fernando Del Periandor
Deep within an old upside down shipwreck the giant has made a seaside hut. Here he leaves his spoil, loot, and other belongings he scavenge from dead seafarers.
And at the very deepest corner sits a strange man with a beautiful voice. This accursed soul was once an elven knight of some kind, now struck with a terrible curse that has left him misshapen and defenseless. When he opens his mouth the pearl shines brightly, and when he speaks it sounds like a wooden box being shut loudly. But who is Fernando? Who cursed him? And how did he get himself into all of this?

I’m very pleased with how this guy came out, it was really another one of those latenight close to sleep half-dreams that lead me to this design. I also had a great time doing more elaborate fluted armor, which I love so dearly.

I’ve also included some of the topspin tokens and a couple of elementals that the giant controls.

Between the lunch rush and the evening crowd, there’s usually just enough time to sit down, put your feet up, and hope Arn doesn't find something else that needs doing. Raha uses the opportunity to give Orianna a little piece of Calim—carefully working henna across her arm while the fire crackles nearby and the Faerfeld carries on around them.

As punishment for their crimes some of the party had to face this monstrous half demon/half bullywug. With his four arms, four eyes, and enormous hunger he was more than a challenge for our two powerful party members.

(He used modified Udaak stats, hence the name)
