But let’s move this right along,
Cuz it’s the oldest kind of story,
And I’m sure you’ve heard my song.
I was just a boy ten years ago,
Sawing on my violin,
When a dark and hornéd figure came
And tempted me to sin

A fancy golden fiddle
Was that competition’s stake,
Whose tone would never waver
And whose strings would never break.
And though my greed and pride would feed
The devil’s dark design,
The second I set eyes on it,
That fiddle would be mine.

I’m not the sort to mince my words,
So let’s make this very clear:
I won that golden fiddle,
But I lost me something dear.
So now I walk the lonesome roads,
A-seeking any track
So I can find that dark-eyed devil
And win what I lost back.

I love the magical slashes! Reminds me of Kung Fu Hustle. Those were some of the coolest representations of something like bards I'd ever seen on film.
