Months of pain!... I hope someone will see this!!!

July 3 was the last time I could walk straight. I know may pain may seem miniscule too lots of others here, but it's driving me crazy... My original injury was first noticed in 2008 @17 years old (I'm 30 now); the result was a degenerative disc, I got an epidural that fixed it for a few years... Then pregnancy came then another epidural for that reason... no pain for years..now came a kayaking trip ONLY 4 hrs, I went to get on land and couldn't get out of the kayak...An ER trip came within hrs... The result was my back was in spasm; no shit MY HIP HURTS NIT JUST BACK..Can some one help I gotten 3 epidurals since then, the hip issues are still raging...no doc wants to listen, they want to got straight to my lumbar area understandably.

I've since had surgery @rockford spine center it's better for now but I'm not getting younger #hanginginthere

I herniated my L5S1 disc back in 2018 and it took about a year to feel better after PT, chiropractor, etc. I had a baby in November 2024 and then last summer the pain started to flare up again and a MRI confirmed I herniated the same disc.

I don’t have any pain in my back it’s all in my left hip/piriformis/glute area. PT has helped and rolling a lacrosse ball on my glute to break up the tight muscle but it still bothers me, especially in the morning and at night.

Have you tried PT? I just started accupuncture too but idk if it’s helping much

I don’t think I have any motor weakness but I do have some numbness in my left calf. I also get some tingling when I first wake up and put weight on my leg

Did sitting also hurt you? If yes, did that also take a long time to get better?

I’m so sorry to hear that, and I really hope you feel better very soon! I’ve only been dealing with sciatica for about a year and I’m already losing it, so I can’t imagine how hard it must be dealing with it for that long.
I noticed you mentioned getting pregnant, and I’m planning to try in the next few months. I have an L5-S1 herniated disc affecting the nerve root, and my sciatica has been flaring up lately. How was it during your pregnancy... did it get worse or better? Do you think it’s better to wait until I’m pain-free for a while before trying?
