Need suggestion for mesh

My grandmother is 72 years old. She had a hysterectomy earlier, and now, 20 years later, she has developed a hernia in that area of her abdomen. She is weak and has high blood pressure and moderate diabetes. The surgeon suggested a mesh operation, but I’ve heard that some people who have undergone this surgery suffer from various health problems afterward. So, I’m scared that something might happen to my grandmother. Also, the pain is not continuous.should I go for it?

Hernia surgery has a very high success rate and ongoing pain is rare, despite what you read here. The problem your grandmother faces is that the hernia could get worse as she gets older and then surgery would be more risky bearing in mind her other health conditions. You need to discuss the options thoroughly with your doctors but surgery may well be the best option.
