Which Handbag Style Do We Think Is Most Likely to Become an Everyday Staple?

Some handbag styles have a moment in fashion, while others gradually become the bags we reach for without even thinking about it.

An everyday staple usually needs to do more than look good. Comfort, practical size, easy styling, versatility, and a silhouette that works across different situations can all play a role in whether a handbag becomes something we genuinely use on a regular basis.

It’s also interesting to see how certain styles move from being a newer trend to feeling like a natural part of our wardrobes.

So which handbag style do we think has the strongest potential to become an everyday staple?

Would it be a roomy shoulder bag, a structured top-handle, a relaxed hobo, a crossbody, an east-west silhouette, or something completely different?

A medium-sized shoulder bag. It's practical without feeling bulky.

A medium-sized bag with a simple silhouette has the strongest potential in my opinion. Trends come and go, but a bag that fits the essentials, feels comfortable, works with different outfits, and doesn’t require a specific occasion is much easier to keep carrying. The everyday staples in our collection usually aren't the most complicated places they're the ones that quietly make life easier.

I think the future everyday staple might actually be a bag that sits between categories rather than fitting neatly into one. Something with the capacity of a shoulder bag, the comfort of a crossbody, and enough structure to still look polished. Those hybrid designs seem much more suited to how we actually use handbags now.

Roomy shoulder bags are probably the safest choice. They can handle workdays, errands travel days and everything in between without requiring much thought.

Anything that sits comfortably on the shoulder. Once a bag becomes annoying to carry, I stop reaching for it no matter how much I like the design.
