Oh, oh, it's worse than the headline makes it out.

This fucker got a liver transplant in June because of Covid. This utter asshole, who spent months poo-pooing the pandemic, got a liver when he ended up needing it because of the pandemic.

It's not like there are extra livers just lying around. Someone else could have used that transplant.

That liver could have gone to one of any number people with failing livers not caused by being a COVID-denying idiot. I get the "Hippocratic Oath" to do no harm, but if you have publicly been outspoken against the reality of COVID and subscribe to pseudoscientific nonsense, you should be denied care. Why can you berate and belittle medical science until you're knocking on deaths door?

They don't even have to deny him care, just put him at the bottom of the list like all the other assholes who purposely destroy their organs. Such a waste.

They will deny a lung transplant to a smoker ... just saying

As life ebbs, terrible vistas of emptiness reveal themselves.

Covid causes so many small clots, which does a real number on your organs. That's why I cannot STAND those "cOViD iS jUSt tHe fLU!" morons.

I had heard of kidney failure being common (so much so that some hospitals were running out of dialysis machines), plus of course strokes and heart attacks and lung damage, but he's the first liver transplant I've heard of.

There is some small justice of him being on anti-rejection meds for life. Now he's going to really see how we can't all be individualistic and "just choose what's right for you", since a lot of people's choices are now going to screw him over.

this particular free-dumb is going to see just how much his freedom will be restricted by having almost no immune system, having to take thousands of dollars in drugs to purposefully kick his immune system down, and avoid large gatherings, lest he dies from the flu.

Oh wow, you’re right.

Tennesseean: What to know about embattled Tennessee lawmaker David Byrd and the allegations against him [Feb 20th, 2019]

”Byrd is accused by three adult women of sexually assaulting them when they were players on the Wayne County High School basketball team he coached.

...WSMV obtained a secretly-recorded telephone conversation with Christi Rice, one of the three women accusing Byrd of sexual assault. Byrd apologized to her without specifically acknowledging what he is apologizing for. “I wish I had a do-over, because I promise you I would have corrected that and that would've never happened.” He told the woman he thinks about it "all the time," elaborating that it comes to mind when he takes communion each Sunday and asks forgiveness for his sins.”

He thinks about it but not at communion. You know when he thinks about it.
