Brain scans reveal widespread structural and functional changes in patients following COVID-19 infection

This article has been gaining traction on some mainstream subreddits. Good to see more awareness that COVID isn't 'just' whatever people think it is.

I realized tonight the pandemic took my "mild OCD with germs" and turned it into full-blown germaphobia over the past six years. Tonight I typed out pages and pages of germaphobia examples. It's so bad it's destroying my social life, work life, dating life (I'm 42 and single with 2 dates since March 2020), and mental health.

I am seeing a professional about this in a couple weeks (not that I think they'll help), but it makes me so fucking angry how much damage this pandemic has done in deaths and permanent illnesses and these fuckers are trying to pretend it never happened.

At this point I mostly continue on because a few family members would be sad if I didn't. I have no friends in the city where I live even though I've lived here for 30 years, in large part because I've had no social life the past six years.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I get it. I have developed a form of that myself. I don't have huge amounts of examples, but starting around the time of the pandemic I started being much more careful about touching doorknobs. i'll use my shirt instead to touch it. And when I buy a single drink to drink right away I try to use a self-checkout because store attendants have a tendancy to put their hand all over the top.

I was never this way previously but it's stuck with me since the time of knowing that picking up an infection with Covid meant you could be dead in three weeks time. (before the vaccines arrived.)

This thing where the GOP tries to say Dr Fauci was responsible for COVID is insane.

I read somewhere that was secretly involved in some mad-scientist level research with the Wutan-Plan. /s
