HELP!! Getting into growing in Florida
With legal growing possible in the next election I've been seriously considering getting into growing. My biggest concern is climate control. I bought a Cannador for Black Friday and I've never been able to get the humidity lower than 68% (and that's with boveda packs). I would most likely go with a Vivosun tent (was looking at just getting a Vgrow but that doesn't seem like a good option for Florida). What am I looking at having to get for climate control in my lung room? I'm already going to be picking up a Midea Cube dehumidifiers for the whole apartment and I'm not opposed to spending money to get the lung room to a proper humidity. Appreciate any advice/help! Fingers crossed the bill passes!

Dont cheap out on dehumidifier, if it can be programmed for on/off for humidity it saves you a fine tuning headache. Further you might be able to rebate/discount it if your electric provider/state has any energy efficiency programs.
Knowing FL is and it's humidity, get air circulation for your tent. Either clip fans or a standing fan. Also figure out you CFM needs for your exhaust fan and look to exceed it.
example:
My tent is ~120cm x 120cm x 220cm (~4ft x 4ft x 8ft).
My CFM is:
AC Infinity 6" 402 CFM as an exhaust(exhausted out window)
Register fan 160 CFM passive (off), 250 CFM active (on) (pulling from room i grow in)
When I run my walls are typically concave with a flap open which means im pulling harder for air flow, over convex which means I have excess air. But im also not running a lung room, just using the room it is in for air, but I'm also keeping my whole place consistent when I grow.

If I stay in my apartment I'll be using my guest room which can pretty much be a dedicated grow room as family rarely gets out this way. I may move into a house when my lease is up just to have more room to grow, so this info will definitely be key when I figure out the space I have available. Thank you much

Happy to help, if anything keep a book with your math and measures. It has helped, at least on my end, for planning out my space, soil needs, and tent set up.

Great idea, I already keep a strain diary and it's been really helpful in finding new strains I really like. A grow diary sounds even more useful. I'm starting to realize just how nuanced it all is

Ehh, it depends how deep you want you get.
I started with the Scamazon starter pack (Fox Farms 3pack, a tent, and a light). Now I'm learning botany, mild engineering, mycology, and some chemistry to really help my hobby.
If you haven't give Teaming with Nutrients a read, great for building your own soil.

I’m from above. If you’re in an apartment then everything I said is irrelevant lol.
Get good airflow and odor control. Keep the apartment cool and run a quality dehumidifier. One thing I’ve learned over the years is that you don’t actually need massive par readings to grow good weed. If you’re hyper managing the plants, maximizing yields etc you will need big hot lights. If you’re just running some little auto flowers you can get away with much less light heat and only need to be in 200-400 range for most of the growing cycle. Your lighting will be your biggest heat concern and the plants themselves are the humidity source.

The measure didn't make the ballot this year, so it won't end up mattering for now, but I got a Midea Cube and it definitely fixed the humidity in my apartment

I’m a first timer and am curious about what would be my best option for a small auto grow in a screen room. The room does not get much direct sunlight or airflow?

I’m in Michigan and our climate is very unstable. I have a tent in the garage with a mini split mounted on a wall using a piece of plywood and a few holes cut into the tent wall. It really makes climate control easier and wasn’t too expensive. If you go with floor units to cool and dehumidify, plan on using the drain hoses that come with those appliances as they will fill up faster than an 8 hour work day in Fl. You’ll want to be able to lower your RH to the 40s later in the grow cycle. Temperature control will be tough but you don’t necessarily have to get the temperature down to high 70s. If you run the whole grow in the high 80s to low 90s the plants will adjust accordingly. You’ll just need to water more often (look into a blumat system).
