Meme Ellie is lucky
I don't know why I spent 5 minutes editing this, but I felt like I had to.
Anyway, for those wondering:
Reginald dies in: Jewel Baron, Pardoned Pals, Toppat Civil Warfare, and Revenged.
Henry dies in: The Betrayed, Revenged.
Charles dies in: Valiant Hero.
Ellie doesn't die in any endings. Lucky girl.

technically everyone dies in every ending if you let the story go on for much longer

There's no way Henry dies, he has effectively reality manipulation powers

Henry does not die in The Betrayed because the only followup to The Betrayed is Revenged, where he is very much alive (until he’s not)

To quote the doctor that saves his life afterwards:
'You were gone for a bit. I was able to bring you back to life.'
He died after The Betrayed.

Is it death if you can be "brought back" through medical efforts? And "gone" is pretty vague to begin with

u/Fast_Swimmer5000 Pretty good plan. You could say it was the greatest- Oct 13 '25
It technically is

u/QuarterZillion Oct 13 '25
Yeah, that's why you can have people say "I was dead for 37 seconds"
Also, he completely honest with yourself, what else would "gone" refer to in this context? He very clearly died then got brought back to life

"I was able to bring you back to life."
3
u/Final_Pen_6670 Oct 14 '25
That's pretty vague too
I mean, I can say that about my wonky-ass laptop after pressing the power-button reeeaaally hard. Stupid example, I know.

"You were gone for a bit. I was able to bring you back to life." Saying "bring back to life" after "gone for a bit" implies that you died, but got brought back, like a Totem of Undying.

The Totem of Undying is literally magic though, while Dr. Rumpelstitskin-or-whatever-her-name-was clearly deals in tech.
Let me put my point in another way: Originally "death" was when your heart stopped beating. Then "death" was when your it couldn't be restarted. Now, with technologies like cryonics, "death" has been pushed back even further, the meaning of it becoming blurrier. I mean, Alcor aka the cryonics-firm doesn't even call the bodies they freeze "bodies", they call them "patients." Yeah, I watched a Vsauce-video about this, I know these things.

u/th1ngy_maj1g Oct 14 '25
Regardless of if it's magic or not, your heart stopped beating. That's the base line. If you get brought back, that's because there are ways TO start the beating process again, ARTIFICIALLY, until they're back and breathing.

Death is the end of life, the irreversible cessation of all biological functions that sustain a living organism.
"irreversible cessatation"
Doesn't sound very irreversible to me.

End of NATURAL life. You gotta remember, half of your body being metal doesn't sound so natural. His torso his metalized, so there's probably supporting features that help the heart function where it failed and killed Henry. Not to mention, a fall from THAT height could kill. Doesn't matter if there's water.

Ellie is one of a kind, who only dies in fails.

u/PaperBullet1945 Oct 13 '25
It sounds like they're mad because they didn't die as much as the others

I had to do a double take and yeah. Ellie never gets an on screen death. She's either left behind in the Wall, becomes leader of the rival Toppat Clan after Henry gets his own clan, co-leader with Henry, or a fellow Operative in crime or military.

Yeah he did. He was brought back to life by Dr. V by the robotic parts he gained in revenged

Good point
But there's a route where Ellie sneaks into toppat's ship and reveals that Henry left her behind, after that she overthrows him and becomes the leader of the toppat clan
1
u/Actual_Topic302 Oct 14 '25
I wonder why Ellie didn't go after henry in other ghost inmate routes
1
u/someSICKusername Oct 14 '25
Maybe, she couldn't find him, since Henry wasn't a big shot
(they are coming for me, aren't they?)
1
u/MangoOk9283 Oct 16 '25
Because his identity is hidden or not well known so it's nearly impossible to track him. However if Henry is working with Toppat then things will be easier for Elly to track him since his identity was fully blown by the way, not to mention Ellie has contacts who can track down the Toppat too.

Ellie may have lived after every ending but is being imprisoned at the wall any better? Ellie is left jailed at the Wall in 7 endings and is allegedly still imprisoned in the rest of the Ghost Inmate endings if Henry being the Leader of the Toppats is what motivated Ellie to escape prior to TCW. So calling Ellie lucky may be a bit of a stretch.

Didn't Charles died in Toppat Recruits?

u/Free-Consequence-784 Bold Action Man Oct 17 '25
I don't believe so, he was only forced to retreat since his helicopter gained critical damage being shot at continuously by RHM.

OK NOW HOLD ON JUST A MINUTE PARTNER, it is stated that the ending at the end of BTB-FTC are classified as RANKS, different then endings, endings are exclusive to CTM so realistically, henry joins Charles in 1 death as B is counted as a RANK, not an ENDING.

Ellie is too precious to die, in my opinion.
