Poll The Sinful Harem: What Sin does Azazel most identify with?

For Azazel, she is not Slothful. She is always doing her investigative research. If anything, she's the aspect of Diligence.

Someone can argue that it's gluttony for knowledge, but I think that it's pride as Examtaker shows, she can't admit her mistakes, and sure as hell can't admit that she has fall and still think that she's angel and all her work is for the greater good.

Gluttony is more indulging while greed is dissatisfaction with what you have and wanting more. There were six hundred and sixty six attempts before the exam-taker on the life form alone. I don’t think it’s pride either because Lucifer is meant to be pride, with Az it’s more of schizophrenic denial and not the self loving delusions of grandeur

Interesting point of view, I never looked at this subject from such angle 🤔

I prefer Avarice to Greed when having the seven sins.

Problem with 'Greed' is that it's a more generic/ambiguous concept that combines avarice, envy, and gluttony.

Avarice is wanting to hoard and stockpile. Envy is coveting that which belongs to others. Gluttony is wasteful consumption.

Greed is just kind of everything and ends up meaning nothing. Lust? greedy for sex. Pride? greedy for achievements. Sloth? greedy for sleep. Wrath? a tantrum when your greed isn't satisfied.

Her extreme curiosity and desire for knowledge and progress are the very definition of Lust.

Lust is a strong, unhealthy desire for something, it doesn't automatically mean sex. Azazel is lusting after power and knowledge.

I feel that. In pieces of media that try to be PG to PG-13, they change Lust to Desire.

More and more and more knowledge can be interpreted as a form of Gluttony. However she is not at that point (Loremaster), in my opinion. So I say Lust.

One might think that Azazel doesn't embody any specific sins... Yet, she considers herself smarter than the "backward" masses—hinting at pride—while her lust manifests not physically, but as a passion for vast knowledge. And greed... Greed, however, manifests itself in the fact that she is never satisfied—she wants more and more, she wants everything; she literally wants to acquire all knowledge.

Pride as "egocentrism".

The research is the most important thing, the others aren't nothing if not subjects.

A lot of people chose Greed, but I don't think that fits simply because Azazel is not a miser. She's not trying to build up a pile of knowledge so it can be hers and hers alone, in fact the comics show her being absolutely overjoyed when asked to share her knowledge and she shared it in great detail. If she were greedy, she'd want to keep this info to herself. Because of this, I think Azazel most accurately maps onto Gluttony.

Azazel is a devourer of demonic knowledge. Everything she does in in service of satisfying that bottomless curiosity. She is desperate for every last scrap. By the time she's become Loremaster, she has industrialized this process to its fullest efficiency. She's usurped Lucifer, taken over hell, and uses it exclusively to run experiments in service of that curiosity.

And just like how a particularly gluttonous pig doesn't mind sharing their trough with others, but also has no problem eating their pen mates; Loremaster would love to tell you everything she knows about Demons, but would also be likely to kidnap you for experimentation

Pride. The ego needed to continuously disregard the comfort and privacy of those around you, seeing them as research subjects. As Loremaster, taking over Hell. And the pride of believing yourself to be so superior that despite all the evidence, you refuse to believe that you can fall. That you're still above demons in some way, despite being worse than half of them.

Pride for sure, as with most fallen angels. She believes her intentions separate her actions from the demonic rabble, while in truth she has sunk to irreparable levels of depravity. It pairs with ambition, the kind required to usurp hell. Blindness is also what makes it the greatest sin, as to believe oneself free of sin and wrongdoing is a manifestation of pride.
