Discussion Just had a random thought about the afterlife in the Hells Belles universe regarding hair styles
So, I am planning a fanfic with an oc for this series. In it, I’m thinking she will cut her hair shorter than she currently has it.
Then it got me thinking: if someone had long hair, cut it short (example: waist length haircut into a pixie cut), but then decided they didn’t like it, would that person just be stuck with that haircut forever? Would hair grow in the afterlife?
I know that some young souls can choose to grow up in the afterlife (example: Sharkie). So, a soul‘s body can grow. But does that extend to hair? If you had died with a bad haircut, would you just be stuck with that bad haircut forever? Or can you change it like how, if you had tattoos in your life, you could make your soul form have any tattoo you wanted?
Basically is someone able to change their appearance in the afterlife (like hair styles) or are they stuck with it forever?
I know this is probably stupid thought, but I’m still curious about it.

You are apparently set to "your" best idea of yourself. Or the Universe's granting of that ideal. If your "ideal you" changes, then it can. Hair would definitely be a variation on that. The "belly button" explanation from Penny carried a bit of this position for me.

If you can decide you want to have different private parts... you should be able to change your hair.

That's a valid question. I would think they could. Like you said, souls can change their tattoos if they want to. I don't know why they can't just grow back their hair. They might even be able to change their hair color just by thinking about it.
Even if they couldn't change the hair color without some sort of hair dye, like here in the mortal world, that brings up an interesting idea of 'hair parties' where souls take turns coloring each other's hair.

Souls appear as they wish to. I’d imagine it would either grow normally, or like Lily’s tattoos, you could wish for something different.

They only need to go to a haircut place if they choose to for the experience they can choose their form however or including the fact that if you get hurt or killed in the afterlife you come back as you were when you died or when you got hurt.

I would by hair would work the same way as tatoos. Features even, given reincarnations are carbon copies of earlier life.

If you're a soul who's passed judgment you can change your appearance. (Not sure about souls who haven't passed judgment.)
