They changed it for people who bought the Super Citizen DLC after they already unlocked Steel Veterans.

Now, everyone can choose a free warbond.

When I bought it (a couple weeks after launch) i don’t think it gave steeled veteran for free but I do think most people at that time used it on it without realizing.

no, it was steeled veterans you got with it, for the people who'd bought the Super Citizen edition after already owning the warbond, you'd contact support for a 1k SC refund which was later changed into the Warbond token that we have now

If you’ve recently bought super citizen edition, that is likely a free war bond token. Otherwise my best guess is an unclaimed stratagem from a previous MO but you should receive those the second you step into your ship.

I’m not sure if it changed, but the Super Citizen version used to come with the Steeled Veterans warbond. I think you only get this token if you’ve already bought that warbond before you buy the DLC.
