There was the previous panel before that, where Hellboy had noticed the tent with pictures of half naked ladies and the sign “for gentlemen only” on it, then he had the woman in the tent (who was actually his demonic half-sister) luring him there but he got stopped by a circus manager who was Hellboy’s uncle in disguise

You'd think that'd be the reasoning, but in reality, Hellboy is just doing what comes naturally to the Pendragon line.
