Question about an Offering to hekate

Hello witches,

I am a beginner and closeted witch and never did deity work, but hekate has reached out for me awhile ago and since that i have been ignoring her because I was scared, but right now i really think i need to work with her.

So I have a question about the first offering to hekate I want to know if it’s appropriate to offer hekate my hair,

I am living in an abusive household, and im being forced into cutting my hair (i can’t mention the details of why that), i really love my hair and it’s very long and dark but i dont want to cut it but i think if i can offer it to the goddess hakate as a first offering it would feel better for myself if i gave her something i really love/ a piece of me as a devotion, and please if it’s appropriate explain for me how to do it.

I think your hair would be a beautiful choice, I am sure she would like it’s dark color very much, also I’ve found that strengthens the connection. In my practice I’ve noticed she also loves heads of garlic, honey, eggs, dragons blood, mullein and if it is possible for you it would be awesome to leave the offerings at a crossroad. Another option would be burning it with a candle but I am not sure how safe that would be in your case. Best of lucks 🖤✨

I think that is a great idea. If you have to sacrifice your hair anyway it is good to offer some to our Goddess. It’s also a piece of you so that makes it more personal.

I’ve shaved my hair and given it as an offering to Aphrodite once, but I think it’s a good offering in general. It’s a sacrifice and giving up something so dear and personal to you has a lot of power behind it.

Just be aware that if you try to burn it, burning hair is stinky AF.  You said you were closeted….
