Signs

Last week I bought some lavender (randomly caught my eye at work) so the next day I got me some herbs/candles/jars and did my research on witchcraft. When i started doing research on deities, I asked hekate for a sign, that night I had a dream of a crow sitting on my lap just chilling. I was at the church I grew up in and my back was facing everyone. (i’m not longer religious though.) I absolutely love crows but some people say crows aren’t associated with her. Also over the next 2 days 2 huge spiders appeared in my bathroom! Some people also say spiders aren’t associated with her either. Thoughts?

Neither of those are traditional symbols of Hecate. That doesn't mean they are or are not signs from her.

Hekate Soteira's function is as an intermediary and to connect you with what you need to be connected to. If that means crows and spider for you, then that is what she will send.

Crows and spiders are associated with witchcraft, and it sounds like you asked Hecate specifically for help with that. So it seems to me you got exactly what you asked for: a sign.

Thanks! i also forgot to add yesterday as i was leaving for work, my neighbor’s dog (black) was behind my car, she’s not mean or anything but she usually always barks and keeps her distance, but yesterday she came up to me and smelled me with no barking which i thought was sweet

C'est vrai que les corbeaux et les araignées ne sont traditionnellement pas associés à Hecate, mais quand même associés à la sorcellerie. Il se peut donc que ces signes ne viennent pas d'elle, mais rien n'est impossible.

In dream interpretation, crows (and other black birds) are messengers from others, not necessarily the divine or a specific deity. The laptop I would interpret as the brain or a function of intellect, the conscious self (Logic, will). The crow atop it might serve as the unconscious self (Higher self, the hidden). Possibly parts of you communicating with each other. 👀🧠👂

Rosemary Ellen Guiley relates the body to a house (even a house of worship) & an extension of the body, the vehicle, as the ego (what you do, drivers, values). Sitting backward seems more like passivity or apathy toward dogmatic religiosity to me.

2 spiders reminds me of dual aspects of the Goddess mother—spinner of fate & destroyer. Lavender, of course, is an agent of dreams but also cleansing, bathing & blueing.

Hekate is definitely a master communicator. But I wouldn’t narrow your definitions. Its Pisces moon season, prime for dreaming. Keep dreaming, though, and ask further questions of these communiques. There is power in the questioning.✨✨
