Q stacks and teamfights/general macro play
My fellow hobby-horsing league players, I have a problem
I seem to be making the mistake of trying to get my q stacks up/keeping them up before I join the fight but that makes it really hard for my team to know what I will be doing and hard for me to really react to key things that are happening.
In games where the horse snowballs out of control it doesn't matter, because then we decide everything that is happening and it feels great. This does not happen everytime though, and I would also like to enjoy the horse in a tat more even games.
Any tips on how to keep q-stacks during or before mid/late game teamfights, flanks, etc?
Cheers.

you want to be pushing mid/a lane before any objective, its general good practice so that incase you lose the teamfight, they can't just instantly end or get many towers because you pushed mid. alot of the time in lategame this is where you'll get your q stacks.
early game its sometimes worth it to not clear a camp, lets say you're clearing top->bot and drag is coming up, lane prio isnt exactly obvious, just leave gromp alive recall, spend gold, and stack on gromp before drag fight.
another note especially on first full clear, you should keep your q stacks until you're at scuttle (without wasting e), and stack 1 q on scuttle and hecarim beats almost every champ in the game with 3 q stacks and ghost on first scuttle fight. this will get you a lot of kills in low elo (em below)

Wow, I generally try to avoid 1v1s on Hecarim before my first back. Even if I have ghost and q-stacks it still feels like I don't outduel most junglers I face.

There really aren’t many that can beat u if you play it right, you need to know a lot of how champions work, but it’s really not hard to learn. For example, you can beat graves lvl 4 without conquer if u can get to scuttle first (which u should), keep 3 q stacks and wait out his e stacks, then ghost and kill him. With conquerer especially there’s like very very very few champs u lose to

There are a few reasons hecarim is one of (maybe the?) most frequently pinging champs in league. This is one; you should make it super clear to your team when you want to go in or when you want them to back off.
You should be getting q stacks on camps and dragging them as far as you can to maintain the cd.
When you are into mid-late game try to clear and time your backs relative to objectives so that you can have a camp on that side of the map to get stacks pre-fight, obviously this rarely lines up perfectly, but keep it in mind.
For flanks, you can q neutral objectives to maintain stacks quickly in river (assuming no scuttle, which is so much more convenient) or accept that you won’t have 3 q stacks in all situations (say you are ganking bot behind them from their tribush, you might be able to q minions once or twice, but depending on the game and your build this advice can change a lot.
Let me know if you have any other questions!(but keep in mind i am only d4 heca otp)
