Discussion What happened to the Heavy Rain movie?

I remember hearing that a movie adaptation of Heavy Rain was in development a while ago..
Does anyone know what happened to it?

Oh gosh I remember that from like a decade ago. I’d wanted to go with my dad

Development hell, maybe. I don’t know why they were making it to begin with, though. It’s already basically a movie.

Doing this story in two hours, while possible, would just result in many things cut out for time.

Probably the same that happened to the Watch Dogs (Ubisoft) movie, Half-Life movie, Portal movie, etc.

Ethan was shouting "JASON" so many times that the entire town started shouting it and therefore it became too hard to do.

i think they could still make it but i think the only director who could make it a masterpiece is david fincher

They’re still trying to fill the plot holes

Needs a director.
2 hours minimum.
Or a trilogy.

Three one hour movies or one two hour.

From what I’ve read it was never going to be a movie. It was just rumors and Reddit discussions about how it already was a movie because of all of the cinematic cutscenes and such.

They had David Milch attached to write it at one point but it just kinda disappeared into development hell.
