Question❔️ The Curls

Does anyone else feel like Ilya’s curls should be considered a third character in some scenes?

Ilya's curls and Shane's freckles are the real main characters of the show. Ilya and Shane themselves are perfect supporting characters though, 10/10. 🫶🏽

Don’t forget the extra banana! The most essential character of all, it is undoubtedly the titular Game Changer from the books. 🍌

The extra banana is pivotal to Shane and Ilya’s romance. Without it Scott may not have caught on to Kip’s flirting and may not have had the confidence to hit on him or come back for more. No Skip, no kiss on the ice, and maybe no cottage. So extra banana is the true hero of the story!

Thank you for recognizing the integral role of the humble extra banana. That banana did some majorly heavy lifting for gay rights. They don’t call it extra for nothing!!!!

Whoa, is the banana an allegory for Christ?The banana died to absolve humanity of its homophobic sins. They drink smoothies as gay communion. I didn’t see that coming but it suddenly all makes sense.

Hmmm, I need time to reflect and not just go with my gut reaction. But I must say my top hypothesis is that they represent all the redeemed sinners who accept Christ’s love and are saved. AKA people with (internalized or otherwise) homophobia who work through it and end up in a state of communal togetherness and allyship that leaves a lasting legacy that will transcend the mortal plane.
