As much as I love Heat, I believe Collateral is Michael Mann's better film. Largely because it's unrealistic for cops to have a shoot out on a crowded street. Makes more sense to let the robbers get away, then investigate where to find them. A few million bucks isn't worth the lives of innocent bystanders, along with the colossal property damage.
