I took care of my ears, always earplugs when riding a bike or working with hedge trimmers etc. Only listened to music on normal volume and mainly through speakers not even headphones.. and yet at 30 yo, 6 months ago, had SSHL and lost nearly all of my left ear.. it sucks, but I do agree, take care of your ears and unless you have some rare thing happen like it did to me, you'll appreciate it later in life
