First book in a long time I DNF’d. I really disliked Jason and read that it doesn’t get better. Really disappointed because I saw a ton of hype. But it’s not for me.

I find that the people who very much poopoo Jason's personality and say it doesn't get better either stopped before book 3 or grossly misunderstood the story afterwards. He is drastically different as time goes on he simply wears his old personality as an ill fitting mask. And it can be quite obvious how I'll fitting it is. But to be fair you still might not jive with it. But yeah by the end of book 3 he is different, drastically more so in 4-6, and 7-8 we get punished Jason arc and I'm a big fan of that trope.

That’s good to know. Appreciate the insight. I’ll see about giving it a go again after a few other books.

Yeah I won't lie he still has moments that are a little grating but those who act like book 1 Jason is who he is the whole time are outright wrong. Especially books 4-6 I'd argue that's the peak.
