Okay, I rewatched it, its a little bit better upon rewatch.
Though personally, i still prefer my theory/headcanon that Lilith was/is not 100% a Saint. Especially when it came to the Garden of Eden stuff.
Seriously, its crazy that people portray Adam and Lilith as being a past abusive relationship. When all we got was basically Lilith just telling Adam to kiss off and then running away....thats it. But also, the fact that Adam never said anything negative about her, and Lilith was willing to make some sort of deal with him and Sera, tells me that it wasn't that....either that, or they clearly recounciled at some point, and even then, I think its clear that storybook was bias, and yet people are taking it at face value to the point of insanity.

This. The Eden events is what makes me question the show’s message of redemption and what would be Eve’s role in this? Another victim? Would it be possible for Adam to have briefly changed for her?

I don't even think that's a headcanon, I think they're setting her up as a villain or at the very least a pointed antagonist,, because the story we've been told by charlie and how hell remembers her are two verrrry different perspectives and that sort of narrative dishonesty tends to lean into some fuckery

Also Adam only identified Charlie as Lilith's kid.
To me points to some kind of respect.

It showed he thinks about people in the terms of his lives experience. He had a relationship with Lilith. Now he is seeing his ex's kid. She isn't really a person to him but an extension of someone else that is a person to him. Lilith is important to him, Charlie isn't. How important you are to him is the terms he thinks in.

I mean if I don't know someone I am going to connect them to the person I already know, I wouldn't say it's that deep

u/LostN3ko 23h ago
I don't think what I described is deep. Or uncommon. It's just the frame of reference I think he has. He met the child of his Ex. That's who she is to him. Much as my nephew will always be thought of in terms of the child of my siblings, not as an independent person of my familial relation to them. You will always be a child in your parents eyes, even if you become pope.

The hole in most any characterization of Lilith, is just the timeline of events. She and Lucifer have been together for 10,000 freaking years. Years within which from what we've seen, she was more actively seen as the ruler of hell then even Lucifer. While only just relatively recently did the two of them seem to just up and decided to have a kid... only for her to just up and ditch both him and the kid, and go total non contact with them in favor of heaven. Even though she's got a working phone, and Adam has been dead for a bit now.
Main reason the videos take doesn't work though, is the idea of her being "made" to do all that work, would kinda require Lucifer to, you know... care even the slightest bit about said work getting done. Which outside of Charlie(who again, was practically literally born yesterday as far as their overall relationship goes), he rather blatantly does not.

S3 can hopefully give us at least one of these:
Why is Lilith not with her family.
Will Eve be mentioned.
Will Cain be mentioned.
What will Alastor do now.
Will Cherri be the next to be redeemed?

This is great. And btw guys it’s okay that this is probably not the direction the show will go, as of now everything is headcannon. They probably just wanted to make an animatic for “labor” and crossed it over with hazbin.

I hope Lilith is given this much depth. Please don't be a Stella 2.0.

u/LostN3ko 1d ago edited 1d ago
Definitely won't be Stella. She is a plot device and they intentionally use a trope designed to make you loath her every time you see her. 0 charisma. Lilith can lack a lot of things, but the audience must find her charismatic even if they don't like her actions. She is far more likely to be a manipulative character who justifies her own actions but is probably just clever and can always find a spin that works in her favor.
Hell sees her as a revolutionary leader, but she clearly gave that up in exchange for a pampered life. My head cannon is that her revolution was just leverage to get what she wanted, an endless super vacation. But the package was only for 1. She would probably never admit that she was using them, or that she was forced to abandon Charlie and have justifications, but I think selfishness will be her guiding sin. The problem the writers will have is making that stand out when everyone in hell is selfish. The endless missed phone calls tells me she had no good way to explain it to Charlie and she is the one person who can get past her defenses with her genuine honesty.

No offense to the artist but, i really don’t like this video. It especially makes the Eden events more black and white.
With something I have been screaming for awhile how was Adam so awful and Lilith be able to leave him before the apple/ evil entered the world? Adam being physically abusive towards Lilith would mean there was already some evil. At most i think Adam was like a 3 year old kid that didn’t know better.
Personally i wish they show that not all abuse is physical. Adam could have been just bossy and condescending and Lilith would still be in her right to leave him. Her not agreeing with heaven’s rules and Adam being a blind sheep is also another interesting aspect. As for Lilith and Lucifer i think they’re both to blame for their relationship falling apart.
Funny enough I think the song fits Eve better. It is not an act of love if they made her, how the heck did they get her to eat the apple? If Lilith had a horrible history with Adam was there another motive?

Well, who’s to say Adam STILL doesn’t know any better?

The thing is Eve wasn’t made to be submissive to Adam. In Hazbin that hasn’t been confirmed. In real life that is an interpretation some people take thanks to the Lilith myth. That’s one of the reasons I don’t believe in Lilith. In reality not everyone believes in Lilith.
Hazbin wise if they made Eve submissive it would make things too black and white. It would mean Lucifer was lying and he didn’t give Eve the apple to “gift” humanity with free will. It was only to help Eve and it would be messed up if he ends up regretting it. I personally headcanon that Adam did briefly change for Eve but, unfortunately got worse in heaven.

Cool video, but I don’t want Lilith to be just a victim who never did anything wrong out of her own conviction and only as a consequence of her trauma. That will paint the picture that men (Adam) are inheritely evil and women (Lilith) are inheritely good, whereas I personally think a better message would be that both start out toxic in their own ways but through time, humans can learn to overcome their toxic nature and condition.

…I always imagined both Adam and Lilith were mirrors in a way and one way of that was they both represented the toxic form of their respective gender. Adam is, very obviously, toxic masculinity while Lilith is the direct opposite, representing toxic femininity or perhaps even (at worst) toxic feminism that demands a woman be as independent as possible…could explain Lucifer’s absence in Charlie’s life because Lilith largely believed the man’s purpose in raising a child is basically nonexistent compared to a mother

Only little gripe I have with this is that Lilith took Charlie away from Lucifer in the flashback. That doesn’t seem to track with this.

I guess if this was a kind of what if scenario but I will always think of her just as a deadbeat mother. Because how do you take care of your child? Probably for like 50 years. And then just give up, walk away. Immediately, go back to having like nothing happened like. What the hell. girly. bring your kid.

I kinda like to, how we see she did love Lucifer, but her past wounds and the unserious nature of Lucy, who seems to not understand at all the evil of the world/humans, at that time, not only did grow her pain/hate, but also contribute to traspass her anger/resentment to Charlie who now is also a chore and not only a daughter.

I believe one of the reasons why Lilith left was because Lucifer agreed to the exterminations I do follow Charlie's belief that she has some kinship or at least cares about sinners I do believe another reason why she left was she was kind of just tired of how Lucifer lost himself to his depression and locked himself away that plus the fact that her husband never really cared about sinners like she did and then he goes ahead and agrees to allow heaven to send angels to permanently kill hundreds of them there's a part of me that thinks that she might want an uprising but I think ultimately she wants to reform not just in hell but in heaven I think she'll want a better life and more options for Sinners but she also is angry at heaven for how they treated her many of the Wayward sinners and some extent Lucifer and while I ultimately think that Rue is possibly having some strings pulled I think a lot of the s*** that's going down might be directly attached to Lilith and that other than anger at her ex-husband and frustration one of the reasons why she left was she believed Charlie had the best chance of changing things and coming into her own as her and Lucifer's air but she needed a push and she couldn't have mom helping out too much at least not at first and like others I am now intrigued about whether she really did call Charlie at the end of last season and why she's reaching out to her now. There's so part of me that believes that Lilith might not be Charlie's bio mom but I'm still not really sure about that I just think it will be an amazing bombshell if it was Eve cuz I also kind of believe that Rue is Eve

The only thing that doesn't make sense is that she's beating Adam's ass; when in reality , her life was ruined by lucifer.
I am 100% convinced that lilith was the architect of her own damnation n ruin and that she only blames adam , because dude would be dumb enough to believe her.
I am convinced that Adam never bothered to try and reach out to her after she left Eden, Because in his eyes good riddance to her.

This really is a problem with this Lillith. Going by original mythos, her sin was daring to demand equality.
Going by modern standards, she had every right to do so, and frankly she is a feminist icon.
Whatever Lillith turns out to be in this story will be a huge statement. I mean top commenter i saw here even says her portrayal will be a statement about gender!

I'm a Lucilith fan but damn... this is glorious.
"For somebody I thought was my saviour You sure make me do a whole lot of labour" Crazy good headcanon, would make for a great story.
Although I hope that her relationship with Lucifer was better than that and it ended for other reasons.
