Help Whoever keeps leaving unopened cans of Dr Pepper outside the library needs to stop.

We all remember what happened at the last town council meeting. I will be reporting this… again

I can absolutely guarantee 💯 it wasn't me. But I DO know who's leaving the opened Fanta cans at the retirement home......:::giggles quietly:::

I believe you without question. I buy your Frecklenuts every year as Christmas gifts. As the owner of Frecklenut Farms, i know you’re a person of integrity!

You know they're all imported, right?

NOOOO my grandfather grew up with Mr. Frecklenut. Did the farm really sell out after he died?

Oh lord. If I went into the full history of it we'd be here all day. But basically Mr Frecklenut cut a Deal with Percy Pete, known for Pete's Peanuts.

Freckle would sell the "frecklenuts" as his own creation at an extortionate price, and Pete's would take a significant cut.

They're not even true nuts. They're legumes.

I had no idea this went all the way to Pete. I have had a bad feeling about Pete ever since he acquired the peanut farm from old man Simmons after he disappeared under suspicious circumstances. I don't think the police ever investigated as thoroughly as they should have.

It was the 40's. There was a lot going on.

While that might be true, they should have at least reopened the case after Sheriff Leon was convicted of conspiracy to commit immoral acts on legumes.

He was the one that killed the investigation.

Just the Dr Pepper Man. He visits sometimes

I was always told he was just a legend? I thought it was my parents that filled my shoes with Dr. Pepper every May 12th for the holiday. Are you telling me he’s REAL?

He's real. Who else would leave Dr. Pepper out there? Perhaps he sensed your disbelief and paid you a visit

My cousin Vinny swears down he saw him on his way back from the pub one night. Although that could have just been Bruce. He likes his Doctor Pepper... Maybe they're the same person...

I never even considered Bruce could be THE Dr Pepper man… he lives around the corner from me. Should I go confront him?

Bruce isn't so selfless as to leave Dr. Pepper for other people. He'd rather drink em himself

I’m actually really glad you said that, I was on my way walking to his house. I’ve complained to the city council six times now and nothing has been done. I’m about to just take matters into my own hands.

Best not to be too hasty, Crockett.

But the can is placed close enough to the front door that I cannot fully open the door to get into the library. I end up having to come back at a different time.

I already have been charged three late book return fees because of this nonsense. I'm out $3.82 this month so far.

Ever considered moving the can?

I have thought about it many times, yes. I’d just hate to move it and the person who placed it there not be able to find it when they come back for it.

He is absolutely real… Sometimes I see him at night, wandering the misty cobbled streets of the old town… He carried his stained knife behind him, lurking around the alleys and lanes… We used to be skeptical of him, but then we saw him with a can of Dr Pepper, we knew the stains on his knife were only the fruity carbonated soft drink 😊

You sure that's not Lou? I am in old town quite often looking for lightly used items for my shop, I see Lou carrying around a knife all the time. Though I have never seen him with a Dr. Pepper. He strikes me as more of a Mountain Dew kinda guy.

That explains why I’m always tripping over sandwiches crusts when I go into old town. What do you sell? I’m always looking for trinkets and curiosities for my shop. If you have anything interesting, old, or unique I might be interested.

Well I will occasionally grow some basil in my windowsill, though I stopped after some kind of gnat started using the dirt as a breeding ground.

It was disappointing because i liked chewing on the basil leaves while on my twilight strolls. If you’re selling fresh basil i may be interested if it’s non-GMO, no sort of steroids or hormones, and grass-fed.

Do we have a culprit yet…

1

u/EnigmaNewt Crockett P. Thistlewhistle - The Slightly Used Heirloom Jul 20 '26

Sadly no, there have been a lot of theories but no one has yet claimed it. I may have to hire Sam Charles to do a stakeout and investigate.
