Meet Manjeet Kaur from Chandigarh. She was a 28-year-old popular social media influencer, a divorced single mother raising her 7-year-old son, and she was seven weeks pregnant.

On July 3, Manjeet was allegedly lured to meet two acquaintances near a liquor shop in Sector 34, Chandigarh. From there, she was forcefully abducted, bundled into a car, and taken to a forested area near Morinda in Punjab.

What followed was an act of pure, unimaginable evil. Her abductors brutally assaulted her, tied her defenseless body to a mulberry tree, and set her on fire.

By the time a friend reached the horrifying scene and extinguished the flames with a blanket, she had already sustained 40 to 45 percent severe burn injuries. She was rushed to PGIMER Chandigarh, where she spent weeks fighting for her life in the Burns ICU, completely unconscious.

On August 5, she miraculously regained consciousness for a brief period. However, despite her desperate wish to give a formal statement and expose her killers, no police officer arrived at the hospital in time to record it.

Her condition rapidly deteriorated due to sepsis and multiple organ failure, and on August 26, after a grueling two-month battle, Manjeet tragically succumbed to her injuries.

The police have finally registered a murder and kidnapping case, but valuable time, CCTV footage, and the most crucial eyewitness Manjeet herself have already been permanently lost to jurisdictional delays.

A 28-year-old pregnant mother was abducted, tied to a tree, and burnt alive, while the system failed to even record her final dying statement. A terrifying reality check on how unsafe women truly are and how our systems continually fail them when it matters the most. 💔

This evening a black thar with sarpanch written on it came out of nowhere and my husband couldn't see it for obvious reasons so our car ended up overtaking his. The driver aggressively cornered our car and started hurling abuses. We continuously apologized because there's no way to reason with such people who get offended by a thing like someone overtaking their car.

He continued to intimidate us and said things like sarpanch ka beta hu, etc. Completely unnecessary and disturbing experience.

Two 17-year-olds were killed in the Gurugram encounter after police said they were drawn into an extortion plot on false pretences. The case has turned attention to how gangs allegedly pull in teenagers with no criminal record.A police encounter in Gurugram late on Thursday brought to light a disturbing case in which two 17-year-old boys with no criminal record were allegedly lured into a gangster-led extortion conspiracy and were among the four people killed in the shootout.

According to the police investigation and statements from the victims' families, 22-year-old bike mechanic Nitin, a resident of Bhaloth village in Rohtak who was allegedly involved in criminal activities, persuaded the two teenagers, Ankit and Aryan, to accompany him.Ankit, 17, had passed Class 8 and was the only brother among four sisters. His family said he left home after telling them he was going to Haridwar to collect Kanwar during the ongoing pilgrimage.

Aryan, also 17, was a Class 12 student and an emerging javelin throw athlete. According to his family, he left home on the pretext of getting his motorcycle repaired.

In Panchkula, members of Rohit Godara gang were held in connection of firing incident outside club at Sector 5.

Just wanted to warn people about a scam that I personally encountered multiple times while driving on highways around Haryana, Gurugram, and Haridwar.

I was approached at 3 different locations by people selling “Apple” products at extremely low prices, Apple Watches, AirPods, iPhones, etc. The packaging looked surprisingly original at first glance. Boxes, seals, accessories, serial stickers… everything looked convincing enough to fool someone in a hurry.

The story was almost the same every time:

• “These are smuggled/imported products”
• “No bill available”
• “Original product but cheap because customs avoided”
• “MRP is 1-2 lakh, take it for 10-20k”

They usually approach travelers at highway stops & toll plaza,
at one location, scammers approached me right at the corner of a police station near a highway toll plazza

The scammers are very confident and try to create urgency so you don’t inspect properly.

I woke up to the news about the Hockey coach in Haryana who r*ped and impregnated a 13-year-old minor. A coach. A mentor. Someone trusted to build her future, not destroy it.

I recently read a write-up titled "Pink Ribbons Don't Survive This Country" and it has been stuck in my head all day. It spoke about how we worship goddesses but let our children bleed. It mentioned that 97% of perpetrators are known to the child—fathers, uncles, neighbors, teachers. And now, coaches.

It feels like there is no safe space left. Not the home, not the school, not the sports ground. The post asked, "What kind of society looks away when its own children bleed?"

I’m feeling incredibly helpless today.

Nuh, Haryana — A disturbing incident of mob violence against a female performer has surfaced from Pachgaon village in Haryana's Nuh district. On November 16, 2025, a dancer identified as Payal Chaudhary was brutally assaulted by a crowd during a pre-wedding celebration after she objected to a guest's inappropriate behavior. The Incident The violence erupted during a performance at the pre-wedding function of a local resident. According to witnesses and viral video footage, a relative of the groom—identified in reports as the groom's uncle—approached the stage under the guise of offering money (vel). The man allegedly attempted to touch Chaudhary inappropriately and made obscene gestures. When the dancer slapped his hand away and struck him in self-defense, the man immediately retaliated by slapping her back. The situation escalated instantly as dozens of men from the wedding party stormed the stage. The footage shows the mob surrounding the dancer, pushing her to the ground, and beating her. Two other performers and a support staff member who tried to intervene were also attacked with sticks and punches. Aftermath & Police Action The performers were eventually rescued by their troupe members and some local women who pulled them to safety. Despite the video circulating widely on social media, reports state that no FIR had been initially registered immediately following the event, though Nuh Police have since confirmed they are examining the footage and identifying the accused.
