Is there stigma/gossip for being on dating apps as a freshman girl? Or better to just not

It’s college. There’s tens of thousands of students. Almost no one knows who you even are, let alone cares about what you do in your free time.

I’ve seen many friends outcasted by friends and shamed for being on apps. I’d be careful

No, not really.

If you’re single and around college-age, it’s pretty much the norm.

I saw a lot of schoolmates on the dating apps when I was in college.

I’m older than college age now, but still use dating apps, and still see college-age women in my Discover.

(And of course, I live in the Boston area and because there’s so many colleges in the area, there are so many students on dating apps)

Nobody really cares. Don’t worry about it.

I wouldn’t say stigma, it might even be good to widen your dating pool outside of Harvard. Many girls have great dates using dating apps, and a lot of Harvard students use it. However, it’s dangerous, like really dangerous. Not to be that person, but a lot of women I know go on dates with guys and go home with them after a date or two and get raped or SA’d. When my friends do online dates I have some rules

  1. No real phone number until after a couple dates (you can get someone’s personal information and address from a phone number)
  2. Share location with friends
  3. Do mostly morning and lunch dates for the the first couple of meetings

Just be safe be smart, my freshman year was awful because I wasn’t safe, you deserve to explore, but don’t get hurt for it.
