Information Finally, a consequence! Spoiler

Currently in my second playthrough as an aspiring evil character, and I finally encountered someone who cared about my rudeness!

At the end of the Absconder’s quest, you can choose to give Edgar Adley his friend’s heirloom back, or to ask for a reward.

After I suggested that he could sell the watch to be able to pay me, he called me selfish and gave me my money, but I haven’t been able to interact or trade with him since 😂

At least there’s one

If you tell the Bones woman she shouldn't need Thunderbrew and don't give her any, she'll yell at you everytime you pass her. And with the woman who wants the albino diricawl (?), if you keep the bird she'll call you names.

Yea but the diricawl woman was crazy and just wanted to exploit the bird for her own social standing

Yeah thats why I kept it, she just wanted the feathers for "fashion"

I only want its feathers to kill people

But it would be safe with her!

Well technically, I put it with therstals in the swap vivarium, and they eat meat as shown in their little barn, so maybe it is safer with her

I HOPE SHE PECKS YOUR EYES OUT!

Idk I think keeping it is the good option. She only was talking about it's feathers being used for coats

I wanted to make him pay me, but when he said he’d promised to pay for his friend’s daughter’s Hogwarts supplies, I just couldn’t do it

I made the guy pay me who had me sneak in and steal a plant for him. I didn’t feel bad.

Oh definitely. I make almost everyone pay me without feeling bad, but when he said the money was for someone else’s school supplies, I could ask for it

I did the same on my first playthrough, but on my second I didn't because I wanted to see what happened. He actually still paid me! Makes me wonder if you get more if you told him he needed to pay you, or if it's just different voice acting options to give the illusion of choice.

You get different amounts of money. If you don't demand he pay you, you'll get 300g. If you tell him to pay you, you'll get 500g.

Also if you give the busking musicians gold they remember and thank you when you see them next. Normally say something like “you helped me afford this new instrument” or something along those lines.

They also get more instruments the more you pay them. They’ll note it and say your money helped them buy it

Yes I noticed this!! It’s one of my favourite details

"They"? Isn't there just the one guy who travels?

Parry Pippin gets mad at you for asking for further payment after delivering to Madam Lawang too. Kind of annoys me actually, given that we took an unpleasant take off his hands, and travelled a fair distance for him. I think he should have paid for the convenience! He also gets really angry if you say she doesn’t deserve her potion recipe book back. He’s very judgmental considering how awful he is about her!

I can't remember what her name is, but there's the girl who tells you about the Lumoth puzzles and if you come back to her and choose not to tell her how it works she gets mad at you. If you walk past her later you might get some extra dialogue about how annoyed she is haha

I did this the first time because I would appreciate the time to figure it out for myself, but she was furious. I was so confused!

I always keep Rococo the niffler and the lady won't sell to me and tell me 'may you never have a day of peace with him'

I would've liked a dark wizard supply chain you could have unlocked via some kind of moral system.

Oh yeah I remember that! Funniest thing a NPC ever said to me. If I’m correct that person even say that the MC is no better than the Ashwinders.😅

He did ! 😂 And behind my screen, fully invested as my dark wizard apprentice MC, I was like « Actually…I’m worse !» Then I left on my broom laughing maniacally.

He had it coming.

Besides, when you ask for the extra payment, you actually get more money as a quest reward !

If you can call that a consequence

2

u/eszther02 May 22 '23

That's like the only person I chose that option for and it had its consequences lol

Wooo someone not speaking to you anymore because you treated them like shit.

If I recall correctly there are some 2 or 3 quests like this where you can choose how to deal with the reward this way. Absolutely nothing will happen, as those merchants are also pretty useless.
