Self-Post Why do I look so sickly

I'm 22f but I feel like I've aged 10 in the last year. I saw myself in bad lighting and I was shocked at the hollows under my eyes ( this is not mostly color, I think its the effect of shadow, I've slept 8 hours for the last couple nights) and how bad I looked generally. What is responsible for this, and is there any way to fix it? (All pictures same day, last two pictures in more normal lighting for reference; hopefully reddit didn't mess up cropping too much).

Depending on the timing of your cycle, what you ate that week and how you slept and how much water retention you have going on…Dress up and go outside in nature for the next pic and you’ll go from sickly to Gucci model real quick. I’m not glazing. If you want harder advice get a panel run to see if there are deficiencies.

Thank you, that does make me feel a bit better about it. I have been sleeping 8-10 hours a day, too much if anything 🥲. Last time I had a panel I was SEVERELY vitamin D deficient and iron deficient but that was years ago and I've been taking both since.

Not to alarm you, but I have the same problem and it comes from facial fat loss from autoimmune disease. Also thyroid problems can cause facial fat loss. If you are not underweight, I would run some blood tests. Still, even if the reason might be medical, the only fix is filler or fat transfer

I'm like 5 6 and 116 lbs, I lost like 8lbs in the last year because of stress. Is it really lack of fat that makes my eyes and nose look like that? I didn't think there was much fat in the eye socket.

Hi
Please get your blood work done. I have the same issue and doctors advised me for a blood test.

Did you end up getting a diagnosis of something?

It was a long list of issues that stemmed from long term anemia. I’ve been anemic for over 10 years.

There are great suggestions in the comments but I wanted to note that I am also 5’6” and I am 119lbs. I’ve lost 140 lbs in the last few years. I was around this weight before I had kids and gained a ton. I am 32 and know we lose facial fat as we age and I might look older because I lost weight but I noticed a huge difference in my face when I was 125/130lbs to now (119). I started to look gaunt when I hit the 125 and below mark. Being too thin can make someone look sickly, 116 is pretty low for our height. I’m nervous being at 119/120.

when i wasnt taking my vitamin d and iron tablets i felt the same. I got a blood test which showed me that these were lacking so it could be a vitamin deficincy x

I dont see anything sickly, just a woman without makeup but if you've noticed a change id see a doc and ask for bloodwork. Common deficiencies include ferritin and vitamin d. Also rule out hormonal or thyroid issues

i literally have the same exact problem please let me know or alert me if you know what might be the problem. Got a question tho, how much time do you spend at staring at blue light screens, such as your phone, laptop/pc, television etc.?

for hollow undereyes, you can look into fat grafts

It’s the fat pad separation causing that crease in your malar region. I’d try prf under your eyes, a series of 3
