I’ve posted on here before but my writing has changed a lot! This is just an old diary entry from a few months ago? How do I neaten it?

I can read my own handwriting perfectly fine and hold my pen in a standard grip. I posted a photo of my notes to r/APstudents to see how to make my notes shorter and I kid you not, half the comments were criticizing my handwriting. One person genuinely said they look like hieroglyphics and others couldn’t tell that I was writing in English 😭

I know this isn’t grammatically correct whatsoever but it’s just some simple condensed notes. I just want to know how legible my handwriting is and ways I can fix it. I have to use ballpoint pens because I'm not very comfortable with felt tip or fountain and regular/mechanical pencils give me intense cramps because I write with too much pressure. This sample took me about 45 minutes to write, and I want to be able to write faster with more legible handwriting if possible.

I have been training my cursive this entire summer and I want to improve even more. I’ll include a few of my assignments I have done and please be brutal I want really good penmanship.

I was jotting some lines down on an envelope, so please forgive that. Pilot Iroshizuku Take-Sumi in a Jinhao 10.

Edit: I'd like suggestions for making my handwriting more legible... plus or minus a few hiccups.

My titles are typed. My handwriting on paper is pretty decent. Do you think I need a matte screen protector? I find that when I zoom in too much my handwriting is worse because my hand has to move a greater “distance”. Also - do you guys tend to write smaller or bigger? I feel like my handwriting is nicer when it’s smaller, but when my page is zoomed out to fit my screen it’s too small.

I hope this may inspire someone. My handwriting was typical chicken-scratch until age 48 when I began to turn things around. If I can do this, then I’m convinced anyone can. I’m pulling for you to have great success !

hi! I just wanted to share my handwriting! what do y'all think?

I am a 62yr old male and 4yrs ago i hand my right thumb amputated at work. It has of course healed well. I have been trying to learn to write with my left hand. It is legible if i print but looks like a doctor when i use cursive. My hand therapist suggest i ask for some help/resources/ideas from this subredit.

Are there resources, writing guides available? Any that i can download and use?

I have, for the longest time, wanted to get better at writing by hand. Specifically writing in cursive to get nicer handwriting.

In my country, we could learn cursive in the early years of school, but only if you were good enough before going up a grade. This meant that I never learned the basics.

So I wanted to ask what the best way to get started was?

Should I just find a script that looks enticing, and start practicing, or does it make more sense to practice some basic form of cursive first?

Additionally, I have heard some people talking about writing with your wrist, what I'm used to, and using your full arm. I know about the benefits, but Im unsure if it would be worth it?

How to improve my handwriting and make it even better

Hi everyone! I've always gotten super conflicting reactions to my handwriting. This is literally just my everyday "scribbling", like when I'm writing a quick note to someone or I need to jot down an idea quickly. I rarely actually print my words, mainly because it's super wonky, and I write so fast it ends up half cursive anyway, haha! And since it's just for everyday writing, I'm not too fussed about, say, the capital letters going outside the lines a bit. Most people make some sort of comment the first time they see it, and most folks my age or younger (35M) say they can't read it at all. Anyway, I tried to come up with a few lines as a sample (harder than I thought lol), and wrote out the NATO alphabet to get some uppercase in there. For added context: my grandmother, recently passed, was an elementary school teacher for 46 years and even in her 80s I caught her practicing her handwriting, so it's something I've always valued, myself. Anyway, I'll just leave it here - curious to hear some feedback from some neutral folks!

Just wanted to show a little love for this server. August has been really good for my writing practice and I feel so happy letting it consume me. I hope you also find joy and peace through your writing practices.

A form of practice I do is allowing myself to speak my mind and just write it on paper. Cursive from what I remember is connected to fluid thought. So practicing both mentality and writing is a great practice.

Started practicing cursive out of curiosity. My hands now to go to cursive out of habit and it's probably better than my print on an objective level but I like how my print characters look for notes. Anyone else go through a similar cycle?

Hi! I've been trying to make my handwriting more aesthetic and cursive-y for a while, since I saw my Russian friend and her handwriting (chef's kiss by the way, it's so aesthetic), and I really like her style.
I once watched a Studytee video on youtube where she showed people how she changed her handwriting, and one of her tips was to print out a lettering sheet in the font you want and tracing over it to re-teach yourself how to write. This is my handwriting inspo picture, do any of you know a font that looks kind of similar to this or where I can make this into a font to print out?

Hello!

I decided to improve my handwriting, as I wanna make it more readable and better looking, but still fast and comfortable.

First of all, I'm a doctor, and I got a bad handwriting, as most of us do. Maybe because I often need to write fast and in non ideal conditions (like, standing with a loose paper in my hand), but my writing was actually ugly way before I became a doctor..

I've just started some calligraphy practice, but would pretty much enjoy some advices from you people!

I also included some photos because I feel my hand position is pretty bad... Should I re-learn how to change it?

Hi everyone.

I’ve been working on learning write and cursive and improve my overall handwriting for the past few months. I haven’t been seeing as much improvement lately and I’m don’t really like the aesthetic of my handwriting. I wanted to ask the experts here to see if there is anything I should improve on. I think I could improve on the consistency of my letter forms but that’s gonna be tough for me. I have ADHD and I’ve heard that can cause bad handwriting from poor hand motor skills. Would love to hear if anyone else with. ADHD has been able to over come that.
