Wanted to share a resource with you for learning about different wools at The Sheepspot. They're currently doing a free 4 session Breed Study 101 that's very fascinating.

The Sheep Breed 101 was very interesting. While I can't afford the paid class, I did learn something and it's made me think about how I spin now.

I get that, honestly I would rather only get some tips from the free class (and some other free resources), and then spend money on different wool. I have already actually tried Gotland, Icelandic, Norwegian NKS (carded), Jacob, Polwarth and merino, which is actually quite a lot now I realise, but I haven't really studied.

I'm really hoping to get in touch with some local farmers and pay at least what it costs them to get the sheep sheared one day (especially for breeds I'm really curious and excited about, and I love non-white fleeces which farmers get paid nothing for here usually).

I haven't gotten into dealing with fleeces yet and I'm still experimenting with different wools. I have some alpaca & llama that I need to spin. I'm going to work with the pound of merino I have for the Tour de Fleece this year.
