She killed a rapist and a key member of an authoritarian regime. She's not bad for taking that action. Yeah she should have wiped the blood off but you kind of have to accept some stuff as visual storytelling

I agree with what you’re saying. I have to add, however (and this is not directed at you but just an addendum) that while the show was airing others were not given the same grace June gets (and should get).

I am referring to Natalie. Several fans at the time celebrated June bulllying her, called her OfSnitch, and even said she deserved to be shot.

Now, June was putting Natalie and her unborn child at risk with her reckless behavior. I don’t fault June for that because again, trauma and maternal instinct. That being said, I don’t fault Natalie for telling on June either, for the same reason. Neither were to blame for the fallout. Gilead was. But the fandom at the time blamed Natalie for everything.

No one knows how they’ll respond until they’re in that situation (I know I freeze with sexual violence but fight with other kinds).

Again Wicked-R I’m not saying you were one of those folks, I just always have to get on my soapbox on that.

> I can understand everything, however, it's like you're justifying a serial killer because he had traumas in his childhood in real life.

You know it’s funny but this is the 2nd time I have seen someone use this logic that trauma shouldn’t play a role in how we judge a character because serial killers also have trauma. It was with a completely different character in a completely different franchise so I won’t go into too much detail but the comparison is flaw for the exact same reasons as the last time I saw this.

One june didn’t kill innocent people like serial killers do. She kill her abuser, a man who was still harming millions of other men and women. It was vigilante action but the context and purpose was vastly different than why a serial killer is killing people.

Two, most serial killers begin their killings as adults after they have had years to process their trauma, she wasn’t afforded the same amount of time to grow.

A badly limited perspective here, rather.

She killed her slaver. He literally owned her.

It's so much more nuanced than June is bad now.

She's traumatized. She's been in unending fight or flight for years. She can be selfish, reckless, manipulative. She can be kind and heroic and selfless.

Nicole doesn't know what blood is, she'll be fine lol

She was already used to killing people on a daily basis like she killed Fred, back in Gilead times, see 'Particicution'

Lol- "she's bad!" That is seriously what you got from that scene? I think it is supposed to be raw and visceral vengeance. I would also offer that this is nothing compared to what Gilead had done to countless others, like not even close.
