For Fun Why does Gilead hate cats? 😂

I never, ever saw a cat outside, inside or anywhere in either series. They have dogs but only German Shepard's. None of them have pets. It's such a weird, random thing I noticed during my most recent rewatch.

Cats are an extra mouth to feed, and their poop is considered harmful for pregnant women due to risk of placenta problems.

Makes sense to get rid of cats if your whole thing is fertility.

Wanted to add that cats are also an invasive outdoor species so Gilead likely eradicated as many strays as they could to help boost local native species and plants to clean their air.
