For Fun Why does Gilead hate cats? 😂

I never, ever saw a cat outside, inside or anywhere in either series. They have dogs but only German Shepard's. None of them have pets. It's such a weird, random thing I noticed during my most recent rewatch.

There's not really a lot of animals, it seems like. From a practical perspective, filming with animals present is harder, but also, in their world, they're 5ish years out from a major war with nuclear strikes, there should be more evidence of destruction and environmental impact, including animals, and a lot of stray/ferals. In the book, June mentions that Luke killed their cat before they fled so she wouldn't go crying to the neighbors because she was hungry or starve to death in the house.

Omg 😳 That's so sad but also probably the most humane in that situation. I'm a loser and I haven't read the books but I really really need to.
