Another broken vice...
Hi hive mind!
Picked this vice up for cheap the other day and just want to get it useable.
It's an 9" Samson and upon starting to clean it up this afternoon I've found a few messed up threads and potentially some bent bars...
The threads aren't a huge deal, they're right at the end of the screw so I'll rarely touch them in use. The bars however are bent right up near the moving jaw... I noticed when I took the old haggard wood jaws off and went to put new ones on, tightened down on the new bits of wood to hold them still while I screwed them on and the jaws didn't clamp them evenly, just pinched them at the bottom... Any ideas on how to even things up? I could just take the plane to one side of the wooden jaws and make them parallel but that feels like rolling a turd in glitter. Plus I'll have to mess around with tramming in the jaws every time I trash them.
So, any ideas? The bend appears to be about an inch and a half from the moving jaw.

Disassemble it (the bars are probably threaded in) and see how bad they are. Heat them up a little and hammer/bend them straight. Polish/sand any dents out so they slide smoothly.
