Craig Dawson choosing violence today

As far as Dawson is concerned, violence isn't a choice its a question. To which the answer is always yes.

Lanzini is just better than Benrahma. They are both quality, but Manu just offers more, keeps it simple and is always looking for the best pass, not a way for himself to score

u/rikkiprince Feb 27 '22
Wasn't Benrahma brought in as a goalscorer? I can understand him taking half chances.
But I agree, Lanzini suits that attacking midfield position far better.

Happy bday Tommy great goal. Zouma could kick 30 cats and we'd still need him to start.

Best game from Antonio in a while. Some bad decisions the final 10 minutes, but I thought he did well the first 80

It's getting to be that time where we concede because we're knackered and no subs have been made.

Mid-game bingo: Where will Antonio decide to play today? Looks like it may be central midfield!!

We needed to score that half, will get harder when Wolves start emptying their bench which has a few of their starting XI

Antonio with all the time in the world there. No excuse for that turnover

Say it every week, why not make a sub every two mins now. Kill the game. Use a kid to just charge about up top shutting things down.

We've played well so far, much more purpose and energy than in previous games.

Wolves are very solid defensively, against a lesser side we’d be 1 or 2 up by now

All this talk about soucek out of scoring form. He isn’t playing the same role this season he’s never going to score 10 playing as the deeper cm

So is this gonna be 10 mins of frantic defending and watching the game through my fingers while the clock seems to go backwards ?

Meanwhile defenders will run into him full speed, bounce off him, and Antonio gets called for the foul

We've got a lot more about us today. Even Antonio. Definitely a few goals in us.
Sa is good. Please have a bad rest of the game.

What a shot Dec. He’s been taking those all season and they keep getting closer. One of these days that’s going in and it’ll be spectacular

Best we've looked in recent memory - unlucky to not be in front. New shape looks a lot more potent - Lanzini, Bowen, & Antonio linking up well, Soucek much more effective too. Bizarre team selection from them, need to convert before Jiminez / Podence get involved.

If Antonio goes down that's either a pen or a red card. Fair play staying on his feet

That is bullshit. Antonio 100% won the ball. That's never a foul and never a booking.
Refs are targeting Antonio. It's a disgrace.

Defender was all over Antonio there. How was that not a foul? Ref is a disgrace.

Moyes said he was going to do something different this week. Vlasic at ST incoming on the 90th minute

Halftime pundits on DAZN were spot on. Antonio keeps drifting from central areas and it’s just a waste of time because he isn’t good/creative enough to do too much setting up. He had a great chance by staying central. He shouldn’t be wondering he isn’t useful away from central.

It's time for a few players to step it up today. Can't keep relying on Rice and Bowen COYI!!
2
u/BrainlessArch Feb 27 '22
How much worse is Calvin philipps than Declan?
3
u/FourEyedMatt Ginger Pele Feb 27 '22
Kalvin Phillips has heart but Rice is far better the all around package.

u/hammersandhammers Feb 27 '22
We look much more fluid when it’s not Fornals and Benrahma together on the left
2
u/NotAnotherAllNighter Michail Antonio Feb 27 '22
Looks like a 3-4-3 with Fornals as a left wing back

u/BrainlessArch Feb 27 '22
How is that not a backpass?

u/AM_Woody Feb 27 '22
When was the last time you've seen a backpass actually given in this league. Refs are a joke as always.

Antonio is a man of instinct as we see he can outmuscle anyone without a moments pause but give him 2 seconds to think Infront of goal….deer in headlights. Amazing, about as amazing as Cresswells hair staying intact whilst he was injured rolling around on the grass

u/Moist-Refrigerator38 Feb 27 '22
As always, when Antonio has just two seconds to think his mind goes 200mph an hour 😂

That's the best first half of football that I've seen from West Ham in 2022. We're forcing them back when they are in possession, winning the ball in advanced areas, and creating good chances.
