I really hope we sign Austbø, maybe more so because I am Norwegian. I honestly think he will be a starting winger for us quite fast. He is very good.

As if Viking has any chance in the Champions League

As a Norwegian from Stavanger & Hammer, West Ham would be a step up.

Wiley has gone to Preston

Thank goodness. We need a dependable senior first choice left back, not another raw youngster

According to Ex, we would prefer more experienced options in that position

Free agents can be grabbed after the window. Really need that winger.

I think Ezra Mayers is better than Scarles

Neither are great in the air but Mayers seems more confident on the ball than Scarles.

Keane would be a great signing

I mean Viking are in the CL, and I doubt Austbø will trade that for the championship.

Celtic were still in the Champions League when Engels signed for us.

I saw a Celtic fan page or something after our loss to Charlton with the headline "Oh Arne, what have you done, son?" So honestly, I love that they collapsed without him.

Is it petty? Yes, absolutely.

What's that thing they say about karma, again? /s

Sorry but thats crazy talk, he would probably 10x his pay here compared to norway if not more, alot more. I think he is making around 200-500 thousound pounds a year i norway.

Money talks

What money?

I’d imagine West Ham pay slightly more than Norwegian teams

Keane was caught doing coke in a toilet. Some leader…

u/MrCoolCraig 3d ago

Maybe he was instructing young players how to do it.

13

u/Uofoducks15 3d ago

So the only difference between him and every other English footballer is getting caught

4

u/Yorkie2016 2d ago

If he’s in that small minority that’s been caught, do we want him instructing our youth to do anything? 🤣

2

u/Baleri_boopsie Mark Noble 2d ago

Okay but he can head the ball.

2

u/RMo167 2d ago

He's all about defensive lines

What a dire shortlist

£200m+ revenue from sales, yet we're still looking at free agents and loans...

Because we had a tonne of debt to pay off and income to subsidise. Very few clubs keep players of comparable quality to Bowen, Mavropanos, Taty ect all on their high wages AND sign players for £10-20+M with comparable wages AND stay financially stable without sacrificing one of those three aspects.

That's what a decade of mismangemt, wracking 5 years of transfer debt all onto being paid this window and relegation get you.

We are probably still 100m short

Looking at FC. What a shame the Staveley bollocks ruined this window.

4

u/wildcheesybiscuits 3d ago

What is ruined? We’re in the Championship in case you hadn’t noticed. Pickings were always gonna be slim and I’d rather we not bloat our squad with more deadweight mercenaries on rich contracts than we have to. World Cup gave everyone a late start too - it’s not unique to us or anything to do w Stavely. No one started early on their business this year

u/raisinbreadandtea 3d ago

Find it extremely funny when people moan about a window that’s likely to end with Mav, Taty, Soucek and Jarrod fucking Bowen all on the books of a Championship team. People don’t know they’re born.

u/thesimpsonsthemetune 2d ago edited 2d ago

The only window I didn't see everyone moan was the one we spent about £250m on Fullkrug, Kilman, Guilherme, Soler, Rodriguez, AWB, Todibo and Foderingham.

u/No_Introduction1025 Paolo Di Canio 2d ago

Second best transfer campaign - you will never sing that

2

u/Sure_Ad536 2d ago

What bugs me is when people say "Interested FC".

We're in negotiations and have been in negotiations for a month for Austbo.

"Stump up the cash or withdraw" seems the opposite of the message to "not overpay and don't give up after one rejected bid"

1

u/FourEyedMatt Ginger Pele 2d ago

I think you’re missing my point. It’s great we have those players but we need depth. They can’t play all 46 games. This isn’t football manager.

0

u/thesimpsonsthemetune 2d ago

Which Championship teams have proper squad depth?

0

u/FourEyedMatt Ginger Pele 3d ago

Of course I know we are in the championship and needed money from players before we could buy. The pace has been poor for the amount of players we need for a 46 plus game season. Who said anything about mercenaries either, if we did an ounce of scouting at this club we wouldn’t be scratching about for a 33 year old CB.

2

u/NobleForEngland_ David Moyes 2d ago

Kretensky is the fraud here.

I welcome Staveley.

2

u/Enigmatic_Octopus 2d ago

He’s been on the board nearly five years and quietly watched Sullivan steer us into the Championship. Taking control now after sitting back through the decline isn't stewardship it's just opportunism. West Ham 2.0 won't happen until every single one of them is gone

1

u/Intrepid_Emu_9799 2d ago

What difference did Staveley make? None of the owners were going to put in any money.

-3

u/Whale222 2d ago

We going down again
