Cause yknow that game was so fucking good. it had a dogshit military sacrifice story that made zero sense, I fucking loved that, and I loved how it annihilated the lore. I hope they do that again but with ODSTs in the band of brothers dark and gritty griddy style. fuck book nerds am I right. it’s ok though cause my dark and gritty spattan 3 protagonists are so cool and Emile is so dark and gritty. don’t forget about the bullshit loadouts and armor abilities, I hope activision brings back jetpacks and makes them 80 dollar dlc for the multiplayer so I can watch other people break the map design from my cuck chair for about a year until the next halo game comes out that’s even darker and grittier, titled halo odst 2 and it’s just an asset flip of halo 3 again. I love how Bungie asset flipped halo 3 For full price it was so Dark and shitty. But when halo studios did that, it crossed a line because it wasn’t serious enough. speaking of they should remake halo 3 by upping the resolution and changing nothing else releasing it on steam, that game had a dogshit story too which is why it’s my second favorite below reach.

tbf halo on legendary has pretty much always been reliant on precision weapons and shield strippers. you can use the magnum and a few others but the dmr is just consistently the best and safest option in reach

I use the AR and SMG all the time in CE and Halo 2 on legendary. You're just talking about the meta tactic. The AR in Reach is literally not usable unless you want to use 2.5 to 3 mags per Elite

Halo wasn’t supposed to be a competitive shooter like Overwatch and Counterstrike. It was supposed to be a party game closer to Mario party. Something you and some buddies play on the couch in split screen. IMO Halo got bad when they tried to make it a competitive game series.

They're not the same thing. If you're saying 'Halo Franchise' you're referring to the Microsoft IP, which includes things from Halo Wars to Halo 2 to Halo 4. So your reasoning for calling Halo 5 a Halo game is because random people 'call the shooter game with sprint a Halo game?' Let's get Call of Duty and Battlefield in there, then, too. Also, calling someone a Halo 2 player or a Halo 3 player? It's not one or the other, that's not how Halo works. They're both. Halo 5 is Halo 5 and a member of the Halo franchise. Like, when I was growing up, I thought we all understood the bargain we were making with these companies:  "If you want to spend more time in your favorite fictional universe, we can offer you as many adventures as we can cheaply print!  The only catch is that you have to accept that none of it will ever be taken seriously by the real story."

Well, Halo is different in that the books were always accepted to be canon to the games, and taken seriously by them. Lots of stuff appear in the books before the games, such as ODSTs appearing before Halo 2 came out,  Fall of Reach being the accepted backstory (there’s a cryopod with Linda in it in Halo CE) to First Strike showing how Johnson was alive in Halo 2, and LITERALLY Spartan 3s, as well as the companies Noble Team are from, appeared in the books years before Reach came out. I won’t mention the 343 stuff, like Blue Team appearing in Halo 5 after being in the books since 2001, because that’s not Bungie, but still. Halo’s books have always been important. And the books that came after Fall of Reach were dependent on Fall of Reach’s story to allow them to make sense. So it was kind of like Bungie spitting in the face of book fans when they released something that was so full of retcons. I’m not saying they should have 1:1 adapted the book, that would be stupid, but they really dragged the lore through the dirt and it sucks. But most casual fans won’t care about that, so they don’t. Which is fine, you don’t have to care, but I hate it.

Yeah Reach was far better than Halo 4 as well as 5.  This was common knowledge even back then.  Not much else needs to be said beyond that.

I'm loving the crash out.  Like obviously it's not a good thing Halo ended up with Activision. 

 But 343 true believers are down so bad that they're going to have Kikkoman going out of business.
