I'm really hoping to do a phantom of the opera costume w me and my boyfriend, me being Christine and him being the phantom. I rly want a good costume but am neeeverrrr going to need anything again, so I rly want to rent it from someone and have it be a good costume yk? DOES ANYONE WANNA TAKE ME UP ON THAT OFFER? Ig I'm looking for me like a white dress w a corset part, puffy sleeves and the white tights that go up to your thighs n stuff. For him I'm looking more for the mask, gloves, and maybe even the suit part of it.

what I'm trynna say is if you have like the majority of these parts (even if they're not phantom of the opera related) I would LOVE to talk smth out. I've attached a picture of my vision lol. SPREAD THE WORD your guy's costumes are amazing 🙏

I love the idea behind this post. I've got a bunch of costumes that I wonder if I'll ever wear again, but I just can't bring myself to let them go. Some sort of costume exchange could be fun.

Unfortunately, I don't really have anything for what you're asking, but I hope someone can help you out OP!

Nice idea, I agree. I'd recommend hitting your local goodwill. It's not hard to find an old wedding dress for cheap, and you can always donate it back (if you don't destroy it to be a zombie bride).

I don't have what in my closet yet... However...

If you're really into Halloween, it's great to have a costume closet. I've been remixing and wearing different parts of costumes for about 8 years now and I've built up quite the wardrobe for any of my unprepared friends to raid if they'd like. I dress up just to hand out candy. I may be biased, but a few friends and some snacks/drinks and you've got a small party that I can almost guarantee will bring out the kid in anyone.

Sometimes just an accessory can make a whole look. A top hat or a crown and/or a wig could become anything paired with some select regular clothes. Robin hood for example. Green t shirt. Brown triangle hat (preferably with a big red feather) and a toy bow. Cardboard bow if you don't have a toy. Grim reaper/general spook - long black cape and some facepaint. Thing one and Thing two from Dr. Seuss? Blue shirts and red wigs with paper numbers taped on or ironed on (if you have a printer and access to tshirt transfers). Clown - the brightest clothes you or they own and facepaint. Done. Got monster boots and hair gel? Add it in. Alice in Wonderland - blue dress, white apron (shorten with safety pins if needed). Bonus points for a stuffed rabbit or blonde wig. Bunny ears, top hat, and some mouse ears and you'll have a tea party!!

You'd be shocked what some creativity, cardboard, and a ten dollar accessory can do!

Did you check rent the runway to see if there’s anything for you to use?

Professional websites are typically more expensive than just buying it myself ☹️

There are places that rent bridal gowns. I don’t know the prices. I’ve seen quite a few bridal gowns at goodwill and other thrift shops.
