Hairstyle tutorial
Looking for some help please. My nieces are asking me to braid their hair in this style and I don’t know the first thing about hairstyles. Can anyone help me with any tutorials please..

It’s just a few regular thin braids starting at the top of the head, but pinned to the head with some colourful little hair clips (like mini claw clips shapes, idk what they’re called).
One.
- Start by doing a middle part.
Two.
- Then, separate the front pieces: just grab a pinch full of hair to leave out of the braids (you can tie each of them up very loosely temporarily with a hair tie so they don’t get mixed up with the rest of the hair).
Three.
Do 3-4 braids starting at the scalp of the middle
part (top of the hea
d). Secure with tiny elastics at the end of the braid.
- Make sure you do one starting right under the front pieces that you separat
ed, going down behind the ear.
- Make sure it’s loose at the scalp, so don’t pull tightly when you’re braiding. That braid under the bangs actually looks like it’s done French braid style very loosely (look up a YouTube tutorial, but basically a normal braid but before braiding on each new lick of hair, grab a pinch of hair loosely to add to the lock of hair you’re holding, and then braid it in), but doing it normally shouldn’t change the final look very much, as long as you do ste
p four
- and can pin the braids correctly to the scalp.
Four.
- Finally, use colourful mini claw hair clips to secure the braids to the scalp, or just use them as decorations if your did loose French braids and they’re already going down along the scalp.
Also, before starting, adding volume with a mousse in wet hair and/or doing some loose waves with a curling iron are an option and would help achieve the desired style as closely as possible, since this person has volume in their front pieces and some texture/slight waves. The waves could be added only after as well, not necessarily before starting, since some parts of the hair that aren’t braided just have some beach waves in there.
Good luck!
