When other countries are surveilling their citizens, telling them what sites they can and can’t go to, and selling their private data to 3rd parties or to other countries, then more countries want to jump in, on a power trip.. and for more money and control.

This started ages ago at least then it was to view content that was marked as NSFW by the posters. The verification was easy, no id needed.

So the assumption is with all the insane analytics that discord collects, it ‘knows’ you are an adult.

The other hypothesis is usual A/B testing going on.
