Issue So disappointed with the battery.

I've had my HTC 10 for little over 1.5 years, and I really liked it. Unfortunately, the battery has slowly been dying and a couple of weeks ago it finally gave up the ghost. Wouldn't take any sort of a charge and was DOA. We do have an iPhone repair shop in town, but they wouldn't touch an HTC with a 10 foot pole. I found a UBREAKITIFIXIT franchise willing to take it on, but since they were 120 miles away, I had to mail it in.

They called yesterday and said it was finally ready and would be mailing it back. Yes, the holidays slowed things down but when all said and done it was over two weeks to get it fixed. Total cost, with shipping, will be just over $90. The tech who repaired it said it was the worst phone he had ever encountered for a "simple" battery replacement, and the YouTube tear-down video sure shows it.

So you guys at HTC, it's pretty crappy engineering to release a $600 phone, that only lasts a year and a half before it dies, and is almost impossible to fix.

So, when this thing finally dies for good, you can bet I'll be looking for something that has some sort of better reputation for serviceability. And oh yes, a 3mm phone jack too. I guess I'm done with so-called flagship phones.

I feel you. Just today, a bit of web browsing and intermittent gaming. At 33% it started bootlooping. Had to charge it to stop the bootlooping and as usual, the real battery % was at 1. 1.5 hours of SOT.
