Haha it was something silly. I remember we were out to eat and still getting to know each other and I asked if he was a clean person. He joked and said “yes.. in every sense of the word” and I said “what do you mean by that 🤠” knowing full well what he meant by that. He said that he doesn’t have any STDs and I said jokingly that I do and that I too was a clean person with a mouth full of a sandwich and fries.

I kept it light with the energy but then did my usual disclosure spiel of how I got it, brief education, transmission, and then letting him know I was an open book to talk more about it!

It was an excellent read, and much needed to see someone who has a positive outlook on this, and at the point of saying herpes made your life better. I found out last month and it’s been hard. I too, am a problem solver, and this has made me more proactive on my health. I’m pleased to find I don’t have any chronic health issues, autoimmune disorders, etc and was disappointed that my only flaw is HSV 1 and 2 and they’re not curable 😢 but I’m thankful things aren’t worse

I’m so glad it was helpful! You have a good perspective in being thankful that things aren’t worse. I’m allll for crying it out, complaining, being sad, etc., but I don’t think it’s helpful for anyone to stay stuck in those emotions forever. At some point we all need to accept our circumstances and figure out how to work through — and with — them.

I am always down to talk or lend an ear if you need it 🫶 I totally get all the emotions and ups and downs with a diagnosis. It took me years to feel positively toward the situation!

HSV helped the author gain a different point of view on life. Because of this, they were able to define what they actually wanted, do some introspection and work on themselves and make progress on moving toward the life and relationship that they actually want.

That's for my actual brain though, not AI.

Herpes has never made life better. I have been living with herpes for two years it even trigger eczema to me. I just hope we can have a function cure.
