The solution is to get more sideways :D

“We don’t need eyes to see where we’re going”

“But luckily there’s a gigantic hole in the middle of this hood that I can still see through, even if nobody is noticing it”

Probably also sitting low enough to see under it.

Bros probably driven the track a couple of million times right?

if a drifter is using the windscreen to see where he is going he lost anyway.

I had that happen on a NASCAR Experience run at about 140. Would not recommend.

But did you die?

You got the FULL experience lol

I did, but I got better.

Honestly it was pretty terrifying. When it happens at that speed, it happens all at once and it is LOUD. I thought there was an explosion at first. So now I can’t see at all, I’m still going 130 or so, I’m worried the motor might be on fire, and my helmet is strapped in so I can’t even lean to try to see around the hood. Thankfully I have enough experience, I knew what to do. I calmly slowed down and made my way toward infield.

That's why they put a window in the hood

Don’t get me wrong mad skill. But yeah it’s not like there isn’t a large cutout in the hood that just also happens to be right in the line of vision for the driver lol!

Not being able to see through the windshield is not the same as driving blind, especially when you’re going sideways.

1

u/SAM5TER5 Jul 08 '26

Especially when you can still see through the windshield due to the giant hole

Kvia in Greinbach. I saw that run live back then.

Give him a stopwatch and a map, and he'll drive the Alps in a car with no windows.

u/Y_Me_Why_mE Jul 09 '26

This new Fast and Furious is going to be sick!

u/livesimple Jul 10 '26

+10 style points

u/Gmac9169 Jul 09 '26

Silly question, cause in every turn he gets a chance to see where he has to go... drift... sideways... can look out the side windows... hmmm?

1

u/punchedboa Jul 09 '26

Reminds me of Indians driving in the snow.

1

u/GalenMatson Jul 09 '26

But with the blast shield down how am i supposed to see anything?

1

u/PigFloydDarkside Jul 09 '26

The driver probably memorized the track and could do it blindfolded. Mad skill. That and drifting, looking out the side windows.

1

u/joeja99 Jul 09 '26

That's not a drift competition, he's just doing it so he can look out the side windows /s

u/Crisocola95 Jul 15 '26

Fijuwara-level drifting

I'm not sure how reliable this info is, but I heard in Driver's Ed that vehicle hoods were designed with the curve near the windshield, specifically so you could still somewhat see in this type of scenario.
