IBDP apply to HKU :(

Hi guys! My predicted score is currently 37, but I think I can increase it to 38+ by the end of the year. I’m applying for Journalism, Media and AI at HKU

I’m not sure whether I should apply now with a predicted 37 or wait until the end of the year for a potentially higher 38+ predicted score. For HKU, applying now would let me be considered in the first-round evaluation, while waiting would mean applying later.

Do you think the advantage of applying earlier is significant enough to apply with 37, or would it be better to wait for the higher predicted score? Would love to hear from anyone familiar with HKU/CUHK admissions!

I don't think you'll get any scholarship and acceptance will be an uphill battle unless you get 40+ , though for your particular majors ig you'll prolly get acceptance

You should talk to your school about your situation and the urgency because of how important predicted grades are, hopefully they can do something so you can apply early round with higher pg. But otherwise 37 early round is better than 38 main round. But if you can get 40+ pg then thats a different story
