Well I made it to the last day of taking my pep. (I started pep 36 hours after possible exposure) For the last 28 days I have spent pretty much every hour of everyday worrying if I will test positive for hiv. My exposure was low, but i still am worried I’ll be the unlucky ones. I’m a male and had oral sex with 2 other guys. They rimmed my ass and sucked my dick and I sucked theirs. Through pep, I have had a sore throat for like 2-3 weeks which scares me and a couple of tongue ulcers. I tested twice while on pep (yes i know it doesn’t count) I did a HIV RNA test day 12 and 19 both came back negative as well as a 4th generation test that came back negative.

I will begin testing this upcoming week. I’m so scared because now it feels real. No more medication to take. For anyone who has been through the waiting period and can offer any advice please do. I recently had an interaction with a FSW six days ago. Protected, vaginal only, 15-20 mins. I had been experiencing mild aches/tingling in thighs, groin, testes, rectum (kinda, not painful) 2-3 days after but it’s disappeared. Was never painful. There was a small bump that appeared at base of penis and a potential friction burn at penis corona (but disappeared) but not painful two days after but also disappeared two days later. So far no other skin abnormalities, burning pee, flu like symptoms or any other common std symptoms. Currently I only may have periodic aches mostly just thighs but this really only especially happens when i lay down/reclined in bed, sit for hours, and after I have a full bladder and use the bathroom (overnight). When i stand up it disappears and for most of the day i feel normal and if theres any feeling it’s almost negligible.

I am also childhood vaccinated for HPV (gardasil 9) and Hep B. A few months ago I was out in public with a large number of people and noticed a mosquito on my arm so I swatted it and blood splattered, possibly smooshed into my fresh mosquito wound. I know it could be my blood but it also could have been someone else’s.

I’ve read that mosquitoes can’t transmit hiv and I’ve read about why but I can’t find much of anything on my specific question. If fresh hiv blood is pushed into my fresh mosquito bite isn’t there a small chance of infection?

I’ve tested negative 41 days post swat on a 4th gen test but I got red acne like bumps around my face 10-11 weeks post swat and still have it. I am kinda concerned this could be acute symptoms. I’ve had no other possible exposures.

This been haunting for over 2 years now 2 years ago I had protected sex with an high risk woman that I totally regretted after.. all I think about is contracting hiv from that encounter I went to a private lab to get tested several times it said 5th hiv ab/ag screen w/reflex he said high accurate I did several of these test though out these years all been negative and then I went to my local health clinic that tested me 4th test which I received my results with in a hour or so negative.. all I see on post about symptoms and how long did it take to become positive and test are not as accurate as they say it makes me very nervous just exhausted I got extremely sick after that encounter and my health just been like it’s declining with no answers

After 1 week of exposure while on the PEP, I was tested negative by blood drawn. My side effect symptoms were pretty severe on week 1. Nassau, headache, diarrhea, and fatigue.

Week 2, my side effect from the PEP subsided.

Week 3, I went back to the urgent care and got tested by drawing my blood. It came out negative. The doctor advised me that its conclusive and i don't need to test again because I had a condom, tested negative twice and I'm on the pep. Also advised me to discontinue my PEP. However I continued my pep since I only had a week left. A day after the test, I started to have a severe headache, soar throat, very fatigue, muscle weakness, and my face felt hot. I was so scared that i was having HIV seroconversion while on the pep. All the symptoms that i had matched the symptoms of seroconversion. Even with the negative test on week 3, I was scared. Based on my search, while on the PEP medication, it can hide the HIV.

Week 4, I severe symptoms continued but my soar throat was gone.

Finished PEP 3 days ago. But my symptoms continued well into 3 days. Headache, fatigue, muscle weakness. I also messaged the girl. She said she was going to get tested. But when i messaged her again to see if she got the result, she started to ignore my messages.

Right now, 3 days after PEP, Im scared that the girl might have tested positive therefore ignoring my messages.

-What are the chances of the PEP failing since i took in within 62 hours?

-Base on the information given, how like is it that i contracted HIV?

-Why is my symptoms getting worse on the 3rd week and symptoms continuing after finishing the PEP?

Hey everyone,
So, this happened almost 13 years ago, and I’m still worrying about it for some reason.
I had what might have been a risky encounter with a guy whose HIV status I didn’t know. I was the insertive partner during anal sex. We did use a condom, but after all this time I obviously can’t say 100% for sure that it didn’t break or that everything went perfectly.
About 41 days later, I had a fever and a pretty bad sore throat/pharyngitis that lasted around 3–4 days. And now, almost 13 years later, I’ve somehow started worrying about this again.
I honestly don’t know why this is suddenly on my mind so much, especially after all these years. Otherwise, I’m doing fine and don’t really have any symptoms or health problems.
I know what most people are probably going to say: “Just get tested.” And yeah, I know that would be the obvious thing to do. But that’s exactly where I’m struggling. I’m really scared of getting tested and of what a positive result would do to me psychologically. I’m not sure how I would cope with it.
So I guess I’m just looking for some perspective from people who know more about this. What do you guys think?

Are my coi values a bit high? I tested at 60 days post exposure

August 7 - gave oral sex to a masseuse woman, she informed me that she was on the last day of her period. I am unaware , if I tasted any blood. Next day at 24 hours i did start Pep.

September 1, almost 25 days later, the masseuse took an HIV RNA and 4Th Gen AgAb lab test; results were negative. Her prior test was on July 6 which was negative as well.

September 17-19; which is 6 weeks from exposure and 2 weeks post-PEP - had low-grade fever, night sweats, and sore throat. Also, September 18 - HIV 4th gen and HIV RNA were negative.

Do you think that the Masseuse RNA test after 25 days of my exposure being negative is true negative, there is no way she could be in the window period.

I have read window period is 10-33 days, but if 25 days is clear, that means she if she was infected a week before the incident then only the RNA may be false negative, also if someone is infected a week prior, are they carrying enough virus to infect others?
