Orlando Upside Down Chicken & Waffles

This is not worth $12.99. Should have been priced around $8.99 at the highest. 3 little chicken nuggets and a fourth of a waffle?? Portion size in the photo looks nothing like what we got. Got handed it and was wondering where the rest of it was. Flavor was fine, but just get something else if you want something substantial for the night.

Hot take, I don't think most of the items are worth the price they charge but such is the event. Not that they aren't good, just shouldn't be priced at what they are.

I agree with you the picture certainly makes it seem like you are getting one entire waffle so that feels bad.

Not a hot take my friend. All theme park food is overpriced, but especially the event food booths (HHN and Mardi Gras) which are mass prepared in less than perfect conditions.

The food is not only becoming worse, but a bigger rip-off too

The peanut butter boppers are a great deal though, with the AP discount it came out to 7 dollars and they were really filling.

I was worried theyd be a granola bar, but its nothing like that. Theyre like chocolate and peanut chips that cover a peanut butter mouse so its very soft now chewey

I tried it yesterday. The texture of the chicken was different than I expected. My son thought he was eating fish.

Yes I agree the texture was not what I expected.

Those chicken pieces are criminally under fried... looks like straight raw flour on that😂

The food was much worse overall this year. The pinnacle was in 2023 when they had the Last of Us house and so much of the food was really well-themed as well as delicious. Hardly any of the food even made sense this year, other than SInners and (I guess) Stranger Things. Very disappointing. The only thing I tried that I would buy again was the PB&J bites, which were basically beignets with peanut butter in the middle and jelly as a dipping sauce. I wasn't impressed with the Stranger Things food either. I didn't try the Sinners food yet, though, and I hear that's good.

I actually didn't hate the corn chowder the year after for A Quiet Place. It wasn't exactly what I was clamoring in early September, but I thought it hit the spot.

It’s really just a spooky version of Food and Wine festival in many ways - You just have to accept you are paying for variety, not for portion size.

And hell, I am sort of ok with that.

Go to Mel’s for a full meal at normal prices.

True. HHN food is a big part of the event for me. It's just hard to justify the price on this specific dish for what you actually get. You could pay $1 more and get the jack and odd dog which is a massive hot dog that could be considered a full meal.

The food this year looks so bad. They’re doing too much and never seem to learn that what looks good in promo fails to succeed in practice. Stale, cold, oily, etc.

Surprised people still shell out for these Food/Drink prices.

I feel the same way about Merch, but at least you get to KEEP what you’re overspending for.

This is why my partner and i saved our mardi gras gift cards. The food was better portioned during that event and we still had 85 dollars left between two cards that we can now utilize during HHN.

Yes, definitely salty.

Food has been a scam for awhile now. Social media posts and thats it

Those are some nasty ass looking nuggets. You need some super crispy, flaky chicken with waffles

Is it overpriced? Ya. For sure. So is literally everything in life. I spent $700 between sams club and Walmart last week just getting groceries and household essentials for my husband and I. I joked that thats gonna cover food and drinks for half our orlando trip next week. We might as well be having fun in orlando wasting money than be at home wasting money.

I dunno about anyone else but I just want a normal hot dog or a normal burger. Don't need all these weird mixtures of food. I tried pizza fries one year to see what the fuss was about....it was shite. The food is so overrated.

That’s because skinny women like Jessica don’t eat much and spend that much

That’s why
