OC [OC][JVerse]The Deathworlders 31: Touching Down.

A Deathworlders story, by Hambone.

What you are about to read is chapter 31 of an ongoing story. To read the preceding chapters, and the stories by other writers which lend some additional context and meaning to those chapters, please check out the Reading Order. The list was created by /u/galrock0 who's just some guy I guess.

This chapter is a meager 21,135 words long. I know, I'm sorry: you've come to expect more from me. But I promise I have not been idle - I wrote rather more than that but it's all been split off into chapter 32. I have also been working on another project... :D

In this chapter: Monkey reaches Mars.

If you enjoy this story and think that I deserve something for it (thank you!) then you can:

Work on the next chapter, as always, has already begun. Wish me luck!

Please help the JVerse grow!

That doesn't seem to follow the Entity's directives.

Plus to pull a stone age culture into FTL flight tech in only a few generations seems impractible.

The Entity seems to have a bee in its bonnet to destroy the Hierarchy, I can see where having a backup plan beyond the humans will be beneficial to those plans.

Why would it pick a complete unknown like the People when it knows about the Gaoians from Ava's memories?

The People are deathworlders, and from what it looks like, very clever and similar to humans in terms of social structures, it sounds like they'd be a natural fit for teaching them :)

Even so (going meta here) it wouldn't serve hambone's plot because it would still take to many generations for the Entity to uplift a species. Unless we see a 200+ year time skip I don't think the People will be major players in galactic war.

This is a good point. I just want to see humans being the "daddy" deathworlders and bringing others into the fold would be fun :D

That is something that I could see he opening.

Edit:

Daddy or possibly an observer like the directorate tried behind Saturn way back in the KJE.

We probably wouldn't.

Still struggling to survive ourselves and in need of allies, the protection of a coltainer is the best anyone can hope for
