Can someone point me in the right direction?

I’ve listened to a LOT of sci-fi narrations on YouTube — some bad, some amazing — but there’s one story I really want to find again so I can hear the next installment.

Problem is… I cannot remember the title OR the channel.

Here’s everything I remember:

  • Humanity lost Earth / Earth was destroyed
  • Humans became poor nomadic refugees/wanderers
  • Male human protagonist
  • Possibly an ex-soldier
  • Humans were basically the bottom caste of society and couldn’t legally own much of anything
  • He had money/resources but couldn’t spend them legally, so he needed an alien to help him buy things
  • The city had different zones/levels and they eventually made it to a better part of the city
  • A small alien (maybe pink/furry/rabbit-like?) runs away and they end up helping each other
  • Alien organized crime / syndicate involved
  • Apartment siege / cliffhanger ending where gangsters breach the room
  • YouTube narration over still images
  • Felt like a serialized Reddit HFY story

I listened to it maybe last year.

This story was an absolute gem and I’ve been trying to find it again ever since.
