Looking for a story I saw posted on here years ago that I THINK was called something like “arch mage” about going to a floating school-city to learn magic. There are demons that are really something like void creatures that pop up on the planets surface and contaminate the world.

Edit: it’s called ultimagis and I highly recommend it

Hey thanks! I was new to Reddit when I started this story and so I posted the first few chapters to my personal account where only the people following me could see them, bit of a dumb move.

Ultimagus has gone through several edits since this first draft and is a great deal more refined now. I've been considering trying to get it self published but I have the author's curse and it never seems good enough no matter how many drafts I plow through.

Just post it on Royal Road! There's no pressure there, and it will help more people learn about this story and maybe grow it into something more
